I am 66 years old, and when I was young, I thought people like me just sat around drinking coffee and playing dominoes. However, now that I've arrived, I am so happy I was wrong. John 5 is absolutely one of the most fantastic players out there, and only gets a tiny fraction of the recognition he is due, just like Buckethead. Those two guitarists are my absolute favorites of all time, and I could listen to either one, any time, and would love to hear a collaboration from them. That would be sublime musical history!

Sometimes i feel really bad reading this kind of comments because i became full professional player at 17 at many different genres. John5 never loses his pocket. There are plenty of guitarists who can do their tricks and exercises, but John5 Has that funky edge that has mega-hit potential. Which is important. Musicians get rich - then they get lazy. Then they live on their laurels. I think that John5 still pushes it - still works for it. He hasn't gotten esoteric or tried to fuzion out like Satriani and Malmsteen (and is frankly better than both) - he hasn't gotten lost in the elitist crowd. I want to see more heavy metal hits, honestly - He needs to take horror-rock up to a new level.
