I am 66 years old, and when I was young, I thought people like me just sat around drinking coffee and playing dominoes. However, now that I've arrived, I am so happy I was wrong. John 5 is absolutely one of the most fantastic players out there, and only gets a tiny fraction of the recognition he is due, just like Buckethead. Those two guitarists are my absolute favorites of all time, and I could listen to either one, any time, and would love to hear a collaboration from them. That would be sublime musical history!
Love his playing style. I saw him playing for Marilyn Manson like 20 years ago...he has gotten better!

To be 100% honest, I had never listened to any of his work outside of playing with Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson until 2024. Then it popped up on Amazon Prime….my mind almost melted after hearing the first jam and then I took a trip down the rabbit hole to explore all of his music. A true shred master and theory god.

Sometimes i feel really bad reading this kind of comments because i became full professional player at 17 at many different genres. Was doing anything from populair and folk both with known artists and studio to numerous metal projects and could basicly play annything id set my mind to and by the time i was 24 some stuff happened in my life and got both frustrated and bored with it and quit and neven touched a guitar since. On one side i feel ungratefull because i see so many people want to be able of what o could back then but on the other hand it felt like the right decision back then

Calling John5 from Eureka,MI. Your music pulled me through a very dark deep space black hole where I was enslaved, then chose as hiding place, before almost became a citizen forever.. hearing the cords, riffs, and rhythms stimulated my core, & woke me from very long nap .Waking from the dead I was like paralyzed person walking free, for the first time in 38 years. Hope to catch one of your shows to reflect my gratitude.. keep on jamming from a fellow Hee Haw plucker & banjo, base, & piano player up the road from where you started . Long Live John5.

John5 never loses his pocket. There are plenty of guitarists who can do their tricks and exercises, but John5 Has that funky edge that has mega-hit potential. Which is important. Musicians get rich - then they get lazy. Then they live on their laurels. I think that John5 still pushes it - still works for it. He hasn't gotten esoteric or tried to fuzion out like Satriani and Malmsteen (and is frankly better than both) - he hasn't gotten lost in the elitist crowd. I want to see more heavy metal hits, honestly - He needs to take horror-rock up to a new level.
