Pastor thank you. Jesus is the bread of life, He who recieved Him will not hunger, this also points down to contentment, that if you have Jesus in your life you will never get hunger in the things in this world, because having Jesus in our lives making us realized that He is enough but it doesnt mean that we doesnt recognize the blessing anymore, we still does, but the truth that we are not asking for more than what we had recieved, contentment.

Great exposition Pastor Darren, very in depth, solid food of the Word, I also was impressed with your Old Testament comparison with John 6 very well done!

I think this chapter has the most direct confirmation, direct from Jesus, of Calvinism school of thought over Arminianism..... Faith alone and not works as well as election & predestination.

The flesh of Jesus is physical. In His flesh dwell the fullness of His divinity, but no doubt, His flesh is physical. The bread is His flesh, He Himself says it. Go to a Catholic Church and behold the truth Bread of Life, not a mere metaphor.
@DarrenLeBlancx5 жыл бұрын
We acknowledge and respect the doctrine of the Catholic Church on this. Our conviction is slightly different, but we do not see this difference as a critical element of our faith. Wether or not transubstantiation is an accurate understanding, we both value the ordinance of communion/Eucharist as a central part of our worship.
@isaiahpeterson14122 жыл бұрын
@@DarrenLeBlancx This difference is a very Critical element of Faith, for Christ said you must eat his flesh and drink his blood to have eternal life. This eternal life that Christ speaks of is too great an opportunity to be ignored.

Does John 6:52-54 refer to communion?
@isaiahpeterson14122 жыл бұрын
Yes. It refers to the consecrated host at the Catholic Mass. This is a very hard teaching, but when people protested and went away, Jesus did not call them back or repent for what he had said: That one must eat his flesh and drink his blood to have eternal life. When he said we must eat his flesh, the word Jesus used means to "chew vigorously." He truly meant what he said.

This is a decent commentary on the chapter overall, but still kind of surface-level in my opinion...
