Although I think Timeless is a typical electric fusion album this orchestral version is superb. I remember in the 70s we turned off the light lay on the floor and just listened. No pot needed just music. Abercrombie Hammer Dejohnette. You could not ask for more. The wide open cosmic drone with stars and spaceship travelling through. I bit of a continuation of Miles In a Silent Way. Sadly IMHO there was no real follow up to this masterpiece at the time that I know of. Abercrombie went more introvert and jazzy which many people enjoy. No disrespect. But for this Jan Hammer was needed. Anyway. What a great tribute this version is and very well played a soloed. Thanks Frankfurt Radio Big Band and Martin Scales.
