thats a poor technique regardless of whether it worked for him,hes throwing it with no bodyweight and the punch off the other hand would be twice as powerful and just as quick a follow .Where a back handed tech can work is pre emptively where youre already side on to the man,eg arms crossed ,hit with top arm

This bloke was a head Doorman for years in Coventry city centre, mentor to Geoff Thompson etc.... I think it’s safe to say he knows exactly what he is doing. A brilliant video
