A great video of John, a friend of mine for many years, and a very talented musician. As has been stated, the Wurlitzer sounds great under his control, and long may his music be heard in this World-class ballroom.

Beautiful playing and if I`m any judge I`d say John was a nice chap too. Love that Linden Tree.

Great to see John playing the Tower Ballroom Wurlitzer. My family and I were friends with John and his family back in the 70's and 80's when I was a child. Would love to see him playing live. Saw him at a works Christmas party at the National Motorcycle Museum but someone else was playing their Wurlitzer and someone else was singing along. Not quite what I'd hoped for, but the food was good!

A very nice video of John. It's good to see John in Action. His way of playing on the theatreorgan is always a joy to hear and to see.

@wersiman1 Cheers Chris lol I know it is. Just bits of the song sound like your famous changeover song. Hope you're well. J

I reckon the first tune was Fascination, used all the time by Reginald Dixon, when joining up with the Band. Finishing well with Rosalie, sounding very much like the Dixon arrangement, shame it was cut short.

whu on earth does he need a metronome clicking in the background. Surely his timekeeping and rythm is in his head.
@johnbrewer98334 жыл бұрын
Some dancers can be quite forceful when complaining about the tempo. I think it was George Blackmore being told by one such dancer to use a metronome so the following day George turned up to play for the afternoon session and dutifully placed a small device on the music rack , popped the earpiece in and started playing. At the end of the session he was approached by the the same dancer who congratulated him for his perfect tempo and how much better it was than yesterday to which George replied ".I am really pleased you enjoyed the session. I was rather distracted myself, l was listening to the cricket commentary"

this sounds like tedious noodling to me. only a couple of chords used (I have perfect pitch, so I know) boring, boring.

Why you make this remark is beyond me. If you don’t like it don’t listen to it

Second thoughts, are you able to play as well as John, if you are maybe apply to join the tower team of organists? this way the true judge of you talents? will be the dancers!!
