Nothing fake about John. Born in Glasgow Scotland, moved with his family to America at the age of 8. Developed an American accent to prevent being bullied about this native Scottish one. Aged 21 & on holiday in the UK he was urged to try for the role in the musical Anything Goes & the rest is history.😊

That takes me back 😀 I first met John in September 1990 when he joined the cast of Miss Saigon as the alternate Chris opposite Lea Salonga. Seen all his West End musicals since then and met him many times 🤗

I saw John in that play. It was "Rope" and was at Chichester. He also appeared naked a year or so later in "Hair" at The Old Vic. 😀

John actually started off in Musical Theatre before becoming a presenter on Live & Kicking. He also presented another children's TV program which I can't remember the name of. When Channel 5 began he was one of the presenters on Fives Company, a daytime chat & entertainment show.
