Sorry for the loss of your beloved mum. 💔😪 We lost our dad young, aged 65 yrs, in 2002, the year I turned 40. I'll be 62 in July (2024) and I miss him every day. We're so blessed to still have our mum at almost 88yrs old and still mobile and fairly independent. I'm absolutely dreading the day, 💔 RIP to your Muma and John Barry. 💜💜💜

I know how you feel, for I have suffered the loss of a person who loved this film and the music reminds me of her, too, and I miss her also. This beautiful music always seemed to me to reflect both the love story in the movie between O'Malley and Eve, but also in a way the love story between them both and their love of flying. The end credits scene of the plane flying gracefully with this music playing in the background is to this day one of my favorite movie memories.

I have always loved this movie, due in part to the John Barry soundtrack. The perfect compliment to their obvious but frustrated attraction. I find it very sad that some will never know the greatness of this man. Young people are too busy tripping over their low riding pants they wear nearly to their knees or rapping to thud thud garbage music. Classics are endless, most will try to forget rap tomorrow. Fun fact: during shooting, Armstrong had to stand on stools and boxes to be able to reach Tom Selleck as he is 6'4'/6'5' and she's only 5'3'/5'4'. Some of their "intimate" scenes, if you really look, she's a little taller than most of the movie because she is wearing 4 1/2 inch heels and/or standing on a stool or box.

This film must have been problematic to make , they went through three Directors filming it. The film could have been filmed better, must have been a few holes in the footage and maybe script development. I know how Editing can be a challenge if there is not enough story and coverage of shots. I read the Author of the book was very disappointed. I did like the film pretty well though and have watched several times. Wish they had one more stop on the way to China to add to the story and make the film longer, and more time spent in the air during the John Barry theme ballad music motivation scenes, a visually satisfying air journey. The shot direction / composition was really vary good. With more care this could have been another adventure like "Out of Africa".
