@M Graves John Belushi was never a loser because I know he was a good man, sensitive, kind, gentle & caring. I know his heart & he would never want me to just move on. Don’t you know addiction is a disease that’s starts from depression & anxiety & people use substances like drugs & or alcohol to fill the void that’s within them? John Belushi really loved people it’s just too bad he didn’t love himself as much as he loved his family, friends & fans. John Belushi was & still is the greatest man of my lifetime & that in my book isn’t the definition of a loser.

@@andykaufmansgirl1974 Jen, if you look at Dan Aykroyd's interview for Ghostbusters on this same KZbin channel, he is asked about Bob Woodward's Wired book. You can see how much Dan cared about John by the way he defends John while being honest about everything. They were a great comedic team and I'm glad they had a great friendship. Addiction is just a trap that anyone can fall into no matter how good a person they are. We sadly saw it recently again with another beloved Blues Brothers alum Carrie Fisher. It is still so important that Dan and John did this movie because it is a timeless classic (just entered into the Library of Congress Film Registry last year) that will keep the memory of their comedic partnership alive forever. The movie will never be dated because it perfectly captures a moment in time and space that people will always want to visit again. SNL skits tend to get dated because they comment on current events so much but this movie exists as its own self-contained world. Incidentally, one of the top 5 most viewed SNL skits from the first 20 years of the show appears to be one of their Blues Brothers musical numbers.

Thanks for sharing. He seemed like he did not like fame at all, maybe less than anybody? He seems genuine. My film crew co-workers loved when John spontaneously joined them for a beer while they were painting a Bluesmobile after hours. Saw Neighbors again, and despite what all sides said about it, it's so professional. No bad takes. Still very fun.

Murray was the best thing in the movie so it's hard to imagine it without him. Murray was a more verbal comedian and made the movie famous for its dialogue. Belushi probably would have been funnier with physical comedy in some of the ghostbusting scenes. But the movie also used Rick Moranis to provide physical comedy since the Ghostbusters themselves weren't doing much physically.

The more interviews I watch of Bobbie's the more I realise that she is a class act with how she handles them. Not easy to coax interesting things out of talented artists in a few minutes when they're very aware they're on TV cameras with a crew around them and are there as part of a promotional campaign for their latest project. I've tried it myself and it is a tough gig. Also to be a woman in 1980 doing this kind of interview with men with fairly sizeable egos too must have been even harder.

Common for that era of stars. Aykroyd is 27 here. Landis is 29. Bill Murray was in his late 20s during his SNL days, certainly looked 5-10 years older. His brother Brian Doyle-Murray also looked older than he was. Back then though, there was not the obsession with youth we have now. So most men especially wanted to look older than they were.
@UCKABAH3 жыл бұрын
@@jedijones I think it also had to do with how everyone was raised. If you look at the standard American diet in the 1950s when these men all would have been growing up, it was generally not healthy. People's diets were generally not good, a lot of deli meats or processed meats, and fruits and veggies to whatever extent they were eaten usually came out of a can. Hard drinking, often with every meal, was common and the boys would start young to "put hair on their chests". Chain smoking from the age of 12 and no concept of how to manage stress since emotion was "weakness". All of that adds up to a faster aging process.
