It's interesting that you were so bad in English, yet God used you to do extraordinary things around the world, through your weakness of writing...I too have this calling on my life. I hated English and failed my English classes in high school because of the much dreaded book reports. After sharing my testimony online, 3 unconnected people in a short period of time told me that I should write a book on my encounter with Jesus in the clouds. Also, my life testimony and how Jesus transformed me.

You have no clue what you're saying. John is a true man of God, & you have no idea YET who YOU really are in CHRIST! It's above the natural ability to understand, & you are limiting your definitions of God based on your own natural life experiences. But,, He says our ways aren't his & his aren't ours. Being renewed in your mind is not only about sin but also being able to know his definition for who you really are in Christ. You R created for greatness for his kingdom purpose alone.

EXTRAORDINARY means something 'out of the ordinary', but not necessarily conferring any positive connotations. EG Saving a child from a burning building is an extraordinary act of heroism, but a test score of 11 out of 100 could be extraordinary too. I suggest that YOU WERE MADE TO BE EXTRAORDINARY is not a good title for a Christian book. In itself it has no spiritual or scriptural value, it is purely a manipulation of the average persons desire to not be average. Look in a book store at the large number of books or the many manipulative TV advertisements that offer to help people escape from being ordinary. A better Christian book title would have been " How to become the person God God hoped you would become". It might be that you would become an intercessor with extraordinary faith, but on the outside you would still look ordinary, so it might not be what you wanted. Perhaps you want to be a bit of a spiritual superman- extraordinary, healing people, amazing people with a stirring message or rousing chorus, but is it from a humble spirit that is prepared to be ordinary for Jesus, what ever HE wants? Isaiah 53: "He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering." Jesus was in some ways ordinary, like an ordinary man, but he was also extraordinary, but often in ways most Christians would not desire- to be totally self sacrificing, totally humble, to be rejected and despised. This is the life he has called us to live, extraordinary in both positive and negative ways, and ordinary too sometimes. If you are looking for the extraordinary glamorous Christian life then you could possibly become too worldly to fit into the Kingdom of God.

YES!!!! This is TRUTH! The Father calls us to be extraordinary! The heroes in the Bible didn't know they were called to rise up to this calling> But God saw and asked and they obeyed. we are created in the image of God, the rest of the world wants transformation not a life that's boring, small and hidden, but a life that people cant help but hunger for what you have!! You want to show Jesus, be Jesus! Look at him and who He really I, , be that!!! That is our example. to be a religious zealot, and put the Message down, is to put the heart of the Father down! So what if its slightly different practical english, there are more things worried about! He wants us to be like him. The message Bible is just another version that is easier for others to understand. Stop the insanity!!!. Its still the word of God. To live a life thats sad, frustrated, broken, no real Power, and only living to convert people, you have forgotten that Jesus came to give us REAL life! To be lights to be so much more than who we think we can.. Jesus said straight up. You will do more than even I have done, why because of the HOLY SPIRIT! just accept the grace and rise up to be extrodinaru its not pride its our BIRTHRIGHT!!!!!!!

I heard a very similar message from Sunday Adeleja a few years ago. He basically said that "a child is born, but a son is given." He talked about becoming a son, and giving oneself fully to their area of work and influence in life- to transform that arena to a godly one.

This is just a motivational book with a Christian label. I DO believe God has gifted us to do many things (and do them well), but I don't believe God has "called" us all to live extraordinary, super awesome lives. This is just a feel-good message with NO real biblical foundation. Read the Bible instead! You'll find out everything you need to know about God's real will for your there!

I'm sorry but his 'opinion' holds no real authority. Only god's word does. He quoted the message 'bible' out of his own book for starters! And for all you 'normal' people out there, shame on you! Give me a break! As far as I can tell some of the greatest people of faith in the Bible were very 'ordinary' by the worlds standards eg Mary, Ruth, Rahab, Elizabeth, Joseph ( jesus' dad) etc

Don't rely to much on the message Bible, it's far from true to the text, a bit like many of the preachers who quote it.

I feel like you fail to understand anything he's said...He's showing that the stereotype that christian life is meant to kill creativity and excellence is false because God has called us to an extra-ordinary life. Would you not agree that the Christian life is extra-ordinary? Philippian 2:15

BTW, we weren't created for greatness & to be extraordinary! That's not what Jesus died for! We were created for a relationship with God and to be salt & light in a dark world. He came to Earth to reestablish that relationship! Modern day 'christianity' is becoming so me focused it's scary! The great commission wasn't " now go and be extraordinary" it was "now go tell people the good news" The gospel , remember that? But THAT message is unlikely to sell as many books as this one, as it probably

tina c you are just stating the one side of grace... and John beaver stating the other side... don’t contradict those things... those are the “effects” of God’s grace... And you are wrong when you said that we are not created for greatness: John 14:12 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and GREATER works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. you just misunderstand John bevere’s point... we will do great things not because of ourselves, but by the grace of God and for His glory alone... that is what John Bevere’s point
