Haagen Neldeberg When he does pass away eventually he’ll be well known for holding his title for the longest period of time, and being arguably one of the best arm wrestlers of all time, but it doesn’t mean he will have that image to the public forever, people will come in time and out shadow johns achievements in the years to come, but that is still far away. Basically instead of adding the forever part at the end of Serg Schneis statement, he should’ve said “The best arm wrestler of all time”.

Completely wrong. Think of a lever, spanner or a long wrench. The further you are from the point of resistance, the easier it becomes to overcome it. Its basic moments. John was the best inspite of his short arms not because of them.
@radfid5082
@radfid5082 4 жыл бұрын
@@joewellfair8238 I think that concept applies but the opposite way. If your arm is longer then there's more torque towards the axis your arm is rotating around (easier for opponent).

He claims he never used them until his 40's when his doctor provided it to him based on lower T levels. Of course, he could just be lying - although he is retired now so there would be less of a point to lie about it, not that it really matters anyway since it isn't illegal / testing for in the sport. I actually have a tendency to believe him. Arm wrestling requires this weird sort of joint / tendon strength that really just needs to be built on over time. They will always heal slow. And the man started competitive arm wrestling when he was 15. So he's had ages to build those tendons and joints. Additionally, he's a technical genius - which roids will not help with either and I believe his genetics are great for the sport. Last but not least, John generally seems to be an upstanding and nice guy. He *seems* like the type of person that would be very upfront about his steroid use, especially since it's glaringly obvious that so many guys use it and the fact that it isn't illegal / tested for in the sport. Check out this video on steroids in arm wrestling: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4XChKyOd56HjK8 Cheers

i dont think armwrestling is that much about technique, ofc some fights will be about technique a bit, but the most important thing is without a doubt forearm/wrist strength/endurance, biceps helps a bit,a lot of ppl say its all technique and thats just plain wrong, and the ones who say its about technique just because a huge bodybuilder cant win over a smaller armwrestler,that doesnt mean its about technique, the body builder hasnt shaped his arm to be optimized for armwrestling while the smaller true armwrestler has insane amount of training that particular way

same here; i think its a lot about superwrist, you can undoubtly create more force if you wrist is upon the others competitot

anders bengtsson It is about technique aswell, and strenth ofcourse. But you can't say it's all about strength. If so, powerlifters would still be able to lift more than these armwrestlers do on their normal day basis exercises.

anders bengtsson of course it is, John was engrossed in Armwrestling world since he was a kid. He's refined his technique and built his strength. If it was more about "strength" then John would not have made it as far as he has. There are more men out there with strength than there are MASTERS of technique.

1:00 my fav shot of Brzenk ever! He took that guy's wrist like I've never seen before. It looked painful actually, and that guy gave up almost immediately after that.
