Such a genius filmmaker ! A true auteur! Definitely deserved a better marketing of the movie.

I read the book when I was a kid and loved it. Glad to know that someone with a similar love for the book (and a proven skill with filmmaking) was in charge. Looking forward to it!

Saw it yesterday. I loved it - great adventure story, epic scale, really funny, great casting (everyone looked ‘right’ for their parts IMO) and just generally great fun. I had written it off after the first couple of trailers came out, but I still went to see it (because of Andrew Stanton), and I’m happy to say I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a pretty great movie.

John carter is underrated. It wasn't amazing, it had it's flaws, but other movies have gotten more hype and better reviews that aren't nearly as good *ava*cough*tar*cough*

updating the characters was wrong, the hero in the book was jsut right and the women being a damsel in distress was how it should have stayed, there is this weird thing going on where you have to make the girl equal physically, how about the fact she was the most beautiful and most desired female in mars that not powerful enough, or the fact that she was a princess,, why do we have to change stories to be politically correct, the racial under tones in the book amazing, changed too much kept to lil

I am a huge fan of the book series. I could not stand the movie, John Carter. Andrew Stanton bastardized major themes, premises, and canon of the books and made John Carter into a boring downer with a horrible origin story. He totally betrayed the noble characters of the House of Helium. Dune, Starship Troopers, John Carter, and The Last Airbender all failed because the director and writers either did not understand the source material or thought they knew better.

Shameful this movie want a snacking success. There director should have forced the marketing guys to sell it as the inspiration behind 20 the century sci find, i.e. Star Wars.

This movie is a complete failure! Instead of ending poverty and hunger everyone need to go pay for this movie so Disney can earn its $400+mill back.
