Stone Cold and Cena took the wwe title away from the rock 3 times total at wrestlemania....once in the 90s, once in the 2000s, and once in the 2010s. With the wwe celebrating 4 decades of wrestlemania we could see the ghosts of The Rock's mania past coming together to take the title away from the rock's family once again ...this time in the 2020s. Wrestlemania 40 will be the 25 years anniversary of the first time stone cold took the title away from the rock...he did it in Philadelphia. The same city as this years wrestlemania. Cena beat him for the title at wrestlemania 29 on April 7th. The same date that Roman will have to defend his title.

I don’t think it’s too gimmicky or fan servicy… The thing is Cody clearly “won” last year. He is more over then ever. Having all these people coming in to save the day, getting rid of the Bloodline, and Roman and Cody go 3-5 more minutes of pure fucking wrestling for a clean-ish victory will work. It’s okay for this match. Cody is over and getting the torch passed to him by Cena and Austin will be a great moment. Cody is going to have a sports entertainment match not a wrestling match. He has all the time in the world to do some pure wrestling after Mania and you already have feuds set up for a Roman rematch and maybe even a singles match against Rock. Randy can turn heel later and that can be your Mania 41 match. Sure maybe Austin showing up doesn’t make too much sense but you can just say its because he hates authority like bullshit so there’s that. Cena has issues with the Bloodline still technically so it makes sense for him to be there. Cody already “won” last year as I said before so it won’t ruin his moment. And like I said you can always do the rematch against Roman at Summerslam for a clean-ish victory insane Hell in a Cell or something.
