To be honest, Cena's a good worker. He's on the road 350 days a year working house shows, Raw, the occasional Smackdown taping, and PPVs. Dolph Ziggler said in an interview that Cena's home for about 5-10 days a year, just to pay bills. He has the biggest workload out of anyone on the roster, and he just rolls with the punches. Yeah, he's not the most gifted in the ring, but he can still put on a perfectly decent match.

The Hogan comparison is spot on. In my opinion what really killed Cena with the older crowd is your two main runners in the Attitude Era. You had The Rock and Stone Cold, both golden on the mic, had entire crowds eating out of their hands, but were still damned impressive in the ring. And they were real. They got their fair share of beatings.Going from two stars of that caliber and back to the charismatic, "unstoppable face" was a step backwards in the eyes of a lot of fans.
