True but his character needs a change. He is good in the ring but there is just something lacking that doesn't grab attention like L.A. Knight or Cody Rhodes. Maybe that's just me but I sometimes forget he is even on the roster which is a shame because he has potential but it's sort of like Roman Reigns, when the fans knew he was being pushed as a babyface, it just didn't work and fans rejected him but it could also go like the Miz if they let him breath and develop his gimmick. But that is just my opinion so, meh.

If you go out there to deafening silence, that means the fans aren’t invested in you and they don’t care one bit about you either, and nothing kills a star’s push or even standing in the industry more than being pretty much nonexistent to the fans, because at the end of the day, professional wrestling is a crowd sport designed to achieve the loudest pops, and you aren’t going to get those with a wrestler the fans don’t care even a tiny bit about. It’s ironic really that for years and years those moronic smarks hating on Cena thought their incessant whining and booing him would damage is standing in the company, when it only bolstered him, because they were still making noise when he came out. It’s why heels like Vince McMahon, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Paul Orndorff, Bobby Heenan and many others were so damn great, because the noise they came out too has incredibly loud, which meant the fans were invested in their character and wanted to see them get their comeuppance. Granted, a face getting booed may seem a bit troubling, but Dwayne Johnson was booed incredibly heavily during his initial tenure, with fans even going so far as to tell him to Die Rocky Die, but in the end, what matters is they’re still making noise. All those Cena haters thinking they were so clever with their anti-Cena shirts were only fuelling the fire they were trying so desperately to put out, because anti-Cena merch is still Cena merch. Cena only ever got heel heat from the crowd at most, never go away heat, unlike someone like Jinder Mahal.
