As much as I like JCC I much prefer Hugh Cornwell's singing voice. Dunno why Hugh's not singing more on this album. JCC is basically a pub singer. Hugh's a proper singer.

Whilst its always good to see John because he is good value and always has something witty to add but that's in conversation or when he does stand up or when he's delivering his poems using his distinctive scatter gun approach. Also, to his credit he is very knowledgeable about this era of pop culture, however, this doesn't work because its basically pub rock and John cant sing. Comes across as being a little self-indulgent I'm afraid and there only getting an airing due to who they are. Would much preferred to have seen them collaborate on a book together about the period, maybe with a ghost writer. I suppose the music they are covering was trashy in the first place so probably pretty difficult to improve upon.
