“Air Force commit. 6-foot-1, 184-pound frame with strength present. The left hand hitter impressed during his BP rounds driving balls through the middle of the field. Posted the top average exit velocity at 90 mph, peak EV at 94.1 mph. Loose, fluid swing with strength in his hands, barrel gets length through the middle of the field.”
“One of the first guys that I saw throw was John D Mitchell, a 2024 out of Texas, Concordia Lutheran, Air Force commit. It was pretty evident that fits with what Air Force has done in the State of North Carolina, watching them play on TV last year, you go, yah, that guy fits with what Air Force is doing.
He’s athletic, there’s strength available, there’s projection left. The arm works with arm speed but it’s a strong athletic movement, really direct. He spun a breaking really good.
And then he got in the box, left handed hitter, and he freakin’, he was strong off the barrel. I think he’s got a chance to be a dual guy when he shows up at Air Force and they’ll figure out what he’s gonna be later on.”
