Interesting that in Paddy's Leather Breeches he quickly plays through the first two notes of the GDE triplets and puts most weight on the last note. How many pipers play in that style?

Fabulous documentary. I hope that this recording will stay available in the future because every piper who is serious about his piping career should watch this. Thanks.

I was very fortunate to have been tutored by John D. back in the '70's and '80's at several College of Piping clinics. He fine tuned my expression.

My late piping teacher used to tell me such wonderful stories about playing in the Edinburgh Police alongside JDB. Also, some pretty good ones about walking the beat with him!😉

Very good, though the old recordings don't always reproduce the sound of the pipes well.

Funny, innit? 😉
