Especially since he thought he'd be making a little indie no one would ever see. When they were making Twilight, no one thought it would be a phenomenon. No one. If they had, they never would have let a little woman indie director be in charge of it. Since then, he made a list of directors he wanted to work with and has gone down that list, checking off names. He's smarter than the average actor.

JDW has real "big dick" energy. Debicki is almost half a foot taller than him and he still owned every scene they where in and Nolan never tried to make her appear shorter than she was either with any of the other men in film. She was still depicted as a normal woman, nothing about her height was even mentioned. In a lot of movies they tend to use trickery to make tall women look shorter next to male costars who are shorter than them. Like with virtually every movie Tom Cruise is in.... I suppose some men are a bit insecure? Or it's just that studios "think" men are insecure and do shit like that?

I'm 6'3 and the respect with which Nolan treated Debicki in regards to her height really warmed my heart. It's not something that is often talked about because tall women are often not really in the cultural consciousness unless it's related to sport, so seeing a tall woman, the same height as me, rocking her heels in the film, playing and incredibly complex character in such a beautiful way, and having a connection with a man who is shorter than her but not once was it mentioned or made a big deal out of was incredibly cathartic, comforting and exciting. It really normalizes that men don't have to be taller than women for couples to be happy and that tall women can date shorter men and it not be an issue. And most of the time the ones that have issues with the height difference are the women - most secure men have no issues with it! So that was an incredibly lovely aspect of the film.

Initially I was one of those people that steered clear of anything that Rob was in..blame that on those vampire/werewolve movies..I was more of a Blade kinda guy...lol However I've since watched a few of his movies and really enjoy his acting. I liked that his choice of movies were left of centre...

I’m not on one side or the other on this. RP did incredible acting in this movie. But you can be a great actor and still be a terrible Batman. George Clooney is an Academy Award winning actor and still is arguably the worst cinematic Batman of all time.
