I head to John Dean Provincial Park to see what I've been missing. This park is in North Saanich, B.C.
I was pleasantly surprised to the beauty this park offered. I made a loop trail of just over 9 kilometres. For most of the trail, I was by myself and could enjoy the kind of silence the forest offers. Sure the birds were signing, but I was able to escape the urban din.
Filmed on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.

I was going to say that your viewpoints are all trees and no views, whereas mine are all views and no trees. But then, wow!!! What a spectacular vista from that one viewpoint. I certainly can't do back to back hikes like you Age, kudos to you. People with dogs believe that the rule applies to everyone else except themselves. I bet the lactic acid was building up on some of those inclines/steps. Another beautiful hike. That crow is loud with a capital L. Thanks for sharing, Age.
@agesadventures
@agesadventures 3 ай бұрын
Yeah, that one view was pretty impressive😁 I like those nice surprises in the hikes! You do need a few more trees over there, lol😀 I started out small to do back-to-back hikes. I then build it up from there and see what I can do. The lactic acid build up wasn't too bad on the stairs. It was just more effort than I wanted to do at that point. I find that stairs make it harder because they are at a different height and angle than your legs want to take steps. The people with dogs think that it'll be ok because their dog is good. The first dog that passed by with the owner actually was good. It ignored me and just walked on by. The other three dogs were nervous around people so they should be on leash.

Thanks, Jim😁 Yeah, that view was incredible! I loved it😀 I liked the hike because it was a reasonable distance where I get a good workout and the next day I'm ready to go for another (if I can get out). It's a little grey out right now and supposed to be rain tomorrow. I'll need to get out today because I'm running out of videos on my channel. Only one left in the queue. I've got a few things I want to try out. I hope you're having a great weekend as well😊

I wasn't sure what to expect when you first started, and you said you could hear people at their houses. This was a beautiful local park! Looked like a lot of uphill and tough to catch your breath but seems like it was worth it. Neat views at the tower.

It really did offer a great view of the towers😁 I didn't know I was going to view towers that day😀 The first dog totally ignored me and walked by like a person in the city, lol😂 The owner of that dog was really nice! The other three dogs were all together and they lady was holding back the barking dog. It was a nervous bark not an aggressive one. They were also away from me so no worries there😊 I enjoyed this one. It's long enough for a good workout and short enough that you're not going to be hurting the next day. I was pretty surprised with this park and it was relatively quiet! Yeah, those stairs were terrible. I think it's because the steps force you into a pattern that doesn't quite match what you naturally do when going uphill with foot steps. I thought it was a great view of the towers😁 It's great that they made that for us😀😀 Some very thoughtful people out there😊

That's a beautiful area to hike and nice trails. Nice and easy on some points, but man you had your work done by climbing up all those stairs! They do blend in and look good on video though haha. Well done for that! I like how it's nice and open on some areas, could be good for camping also if it's allowed of course. The views from higher ground were beautiful as well. That camera effect you do is cool, how it's pulling back when youre walking towards it. That's a nice touch. Im nowhere near with my editing like that yet haha. Great video Age, thanks for taking us along! Big like👍🏻😎 Who let the dogs out who who who 🎵🎶

Yes, "Who let the dogs out?"😁😁 It was quite the nice trail and once I got away from the homes it was quite tranquil. It was a lot of stairs. Good workout I guess💪💪 I'm not sure if there is camping allowed in there. Probably not, but I'm sure some people have done it. I'm glad you appreciate the camera effect. I like to keep the action in motion the whole time for these. I think it works well. Keep practicing with the editing and it'll come😀

Nice walk. I wish people would keep their dogs on a leash when out on public trails. I love dogs and don't have any problem with dogs. But I understand not all people are comfortable with dogs. And even the best of dogs don't get along well with everyone. It is best to teach our dogs how to be out in public while on a leash. Enough of that rant from a dog owner. Lol. stairs will definitely kick our ass. Beautiful view at the towers. I wonder if it would be safe for someone with a pacemaker to be that close to the towers.
@agesadventures
@agesadventures 3 ай бұрын
We have off-leash areas for dogs. The places where dogs are supposed to be on leash they have a reason for that. Yeah, some of the dogs can be great with people, but absolutely hate other dogs. That can get really dangerous. The stairs were not my favourite😀 There were no signs saying to stay away if you have a pacemaker. I wonder...they have cell towers everywhere nowadays so maybe they don't interfere.
