Finally, somebody on youtube who knows how to plow.

Disagree. Although it's better than a Magnatrac video.

Very nice setup. That looks like pretty dry snow so traction probably not a problem. What have you had to do for ballast if any? Using chains? 4WD enough? I have just ordered a frontier AF10F for my 1025R and figured I would have to just carry around the backhoe attachment for rear ballast. We have a lot of cycles of wet snow and ice here in the Columbia River Gorge (NW). Thanks for sharing !!!

Thanks for the video. I was wondering whether I could just disconnect the curl hoses and attach the angling hoses and it seems like the answer is yes.

I have a 1000' gravel driveway with a crown and I use the curl/dump function all the time to raise and lower one side of the blade when angled to match the contour of the driveway so I still have a crown at the end of the plowing season. I also wonder if the curl/dump cylinders would bleed down when disconnected for extended periods. It sure is worth a try as my 3rd function hydraulic dealer add on wasn't cheap.

Plow setup works well. Like plow shoes. Using the curl function in lieu of 3rd function hydraulics saves hundreds of dollars. A rubber cutting edge addition and rubber plow wings would save your turf and gravel spreading. I have the JD quick attach plow with Artillian plow wings and cutting edge. This traditional JD quick attach snow plow offers a more compact snowplowing setup that requires no added ballast other than turf tires and loading the rear tires. Bottom line is your setup is impressive. I assume the setup is $1700 -$1800 plus shipping. How much was shipping?

Nice job! Clearly you have done that driveway a few times.

What size blade width did you choose? I'm debating between the 60" and 66." Wondering if the 66" would be too much for a 1025r.

Nice video. I'm getting the 3025e and debating on plows. JD wants $1000 more than the CTA plow, ouch. We have gravel drive and some other rough areas. How is yours holding up? JD looks, in pics, like a heavier unit but $1000 is hard to swallow.

I actually sold it last fall. I no longer have property to use it on. The plow has three or four round bottom skid plates so you can adjust it to scrape hard surfaces clean or

The little guy did a great job with that deep snow. Are you running chains?
@robertfinley97955 жыл бұрын
so you unhock your curl, and hook up long hoses to your plow and work well,didn't your curl function start to fall... dealer says will not work, because your curl function will start to give and fall out of place .. did you get your plow at ct attachments
@kalindberg5 жыл бұрын
As long as your cylinders don’t leak hydraulic fluid the curl will stay where you put it when the hoses are disconnected. It worked fine all last year. Yes I bought the plow at CTA. I got the hydraulic hoses fabricated at my local O’Reilly auto parts store.

Adding a third function kit is pricey. I got a quote from my local JD dealer. Parts and labor was about $1800.

I have the quick attach set up on the rear and hang about 200 pounds of weights on that. No chains. Works reasonably well as long as it isn’t real icy underneath.

Do you plow in low gear and throttle full power?
@kalindberg Жыл бұрын
I don't have the tractor any more, but as I recall the conditions (heavy vs light snow, deep vs not deep) determined power and speed.

Do you have any issues with the curling hydraulic dropping on you or does it stay in place?

You can add Artillian rubber wings to widen.

Where did you buy the plow and angle kit?

CTA = Compact Tractor Attachments (www.ctattachments.com/). Also had to buy hoses and fittings from other sources.

How do you remove the bucket and attack this snowplow ? Do you maybe have a video on that ?
@kalindberg2 жыл бұрын
You just remove two pins and the bucket comes off. Then you set the curl where you want it, disconnect the two hoses that work the curl function and plug in the hoses that move the plow left/right.

observation: No bucket? A drive that long with a blade? Only if you are saving up would I understand. You'd also use it for countless things the other 9 months.

observation: Get a real loader. Ask me how I know. I'm a 3320 Deere and 300CX loader. You can easily place the snow over shrubs or wherever. Meant nicely.

Observation: Looks to me like he and the tractor did a great job. Maybe that's all the tractor and equipment he wants, wants to pay for, or can afford.
