John Deere 1910G Forwarder in Swedish logging

Very well done! I´m not a truck driver, but the only thing I would wish for, was a tiny bit of opening/closing the grapple to remove some easily removable limbs. Otherwise, great skills, and a very considerate driver, not abusing the machine as well. This seems to be on very solid ground though, as a fully loaded 1910 would easily tick in at 50-60 metric tons?

Americans love to see the creative genius from European engineers and manufacturers. You guys create some of the most impressive farming equipment among other equipment. Unfortunately very few North American commercial logging operators could make a living with a snappy piece of logging equipment of this size. It looks like a blast to operate and very efficient in gathering relatively small, level, off road locations. I think this rig would be great for clearing space for new office or retail construction. In order to make a buck in North America the logging areas must be large and many are impossibly mountainous. A choker cable from a field tower yarder is almost always required.

We have yarders too (we call them skylines) but they are only used on very extreme slopes as they are too slow. Forwarders like this and the harvester that goes in front are winched up and down slopes like ski slope piste bashers.

I know some areas in the US have CTL equipment, though. However, I know you also have a lot of forests where the trees are just too big to handle this way. I mean, when you´ve got trees big enough that a Skycrane is an affordable option for transport, those trees are massive! Also, any kind of hardwood wood not suit this method well. Delimbing just don´t work well on those compared to a chansaw, or maybe those stationary ones that you use.
