I have the 3033R and love it. It is heavier for our sandy soil. I graduated from an 855-JD 1996 year. It is still working strong, I just needed something bigger. As far as seeing the front of the bucket, you are correct in that it is difficult to see. My solution: I adjust the seat to stiff on the air ride. Then I semi-stand to set it at the highest point. It does not compress from there, and I can see the front of the bucket. :) I laugh at myself when I readjust the seat to air ride, because I do a seated jump slightly to reset it.

Really good review! I just traded my 3E for a new 3R for pretty much exactly the same reasons. I gained around 500lbs lift with the loader plus over a foot higher. I went with the 3039R over the 3033R just because I use run a stump grinder and brush chipper a lot and the added PTO hp makes a huge difference. Cast iron rear end vs aluminum was a plus for me as well. Never had a problem with the axles on the E but it definitely gives me peace of mind. Love the mid-range feature, leave it there for 90% of my work. Switch to low if I'm using the loader, box blade whatever... then back to mid. Also use low for better control grinding stumps. Love the individual wheel braking to make tighter turns and like you said, the positions of the diff lock and 4x4 lever are much better. The E did everything I needed it to do, the new R just does it a lot better. With the added PTO hp, I grind the stumps in half the time and no more bogging down the chipper with big or hard wood. If I was just occasionally moving mulch or gravel and sometimes bush hogging 50-75 hrs/year I would stay with the 3E all day long. If you work the tractor hard moving heavy loads or whatever on a regular basis it won't take long to really appreciate all the added features of the 3R. Thanks for putting the video together!

At least I'm not the only one that thought the same thing. I should have looked at the 39 to see the difference on price. I only really notice the low HP with the snowblower with heavy wet snow.

Just came across your video. I looked a 33r back in 2018, went with the 32e. Here's the biggest reason why: seat time. 5+ yrs later and it has about 150hrs. Couldnt justify the extra $8k at the time for no more than its used. It's used for garden work and roadside mowing. I have other tractors so mainly got because of my 70 yr old dad and my 10 yr old grandson. Neither one could hit the clutch fast enough if there was an issue. At least they can let off the gas and it'll come to a stop. If I was in the seat 15-40 hrs a week, I'd definitely would of went with the R series. Just is just from my point of view.

@dunnfamilymaple Жыл бұрын
honestly now after having the 33R take a look at the price difference between the 33R and the 3039R its a cheap upgrade I think. Either way the difference between the 3R and the 3E is night and day in what the tractor will do.

The quick attach loader on the R series is worth it. I have a 2720R, my next one is going to be a 4R series for lifting capacity. I’m starting to use the cage totes for firewood storage & my 2720 doesn’t have the muscle. Amazon has a battery power small pump that works well for fueling it saves your back & spills. My OCD really appreciates how neat & organized you keep everything!

Agre with you the kubota has some terrible pedals and a block heater is so darn nice to have and your tractor engine will last longer when you use a heater during winter I'm really thinking about getting a 3025 e with the 300r loader just to do the small tasks in our homestead
@dunnfamilymaple10 ай бұрын
stay away from the e series. the loaders are crap. If you don't want a 3R then get a 2025R. It is almost the same loader as the 3R but is under the emissions and a little smaller. My buddy has one it is a very capable tractor

United and hall implement in Windham? Are you in Maine? Where abouts? I live in Goodwins Mills. When my father was buying his 1025r back in 2017/2018 hall implement was about $2000 cheaper than United agg in Sanford. And they also threw in a weight box on top of being $2000 less. I think United was better when it was shaws but they do seem to have more inventory now that it's United. I have a Kubota and found the same thing when wescott & sins became MB, wescott seemed a lot more willing to help and customer oriented where as MB carries more equipment and product you pay for that in stock inventory in one way or another.
@dunnfamilymapleАй бұрын
I'm in Buxton. I had to go to United for my first tractor as it was COVID and inventory was slim. Hall's didn't have anything in stock. I went to Hall's for my 3R and am happy. Once they go corporate the good help leaves and the counter for parts is a scary place. If you don't have a part number hang on. MB couldn't help me for a Stihl fuel cap because the guy at the counter didn't know how to run the computer. I walked out without saying anything. United (Chad Little) was able to help but their good help is all leaving too.

Thanks for the great info, I ended up buying a 3033R for a lot of the reasons you mention, one reason I don't think you mentioned was also so I could have a mid PTO for a front mount blower as the E is not capable of a mid PTO. I actually looked a bit at the 2032R also and I think for anyone looking to spend 3032E money the 2032R is a better tractor for the same money than the 3E. Can't wait to get my 3R!
@dunnfamilymaple Жыл бұрын
I love my 33R!! The mid PTO is great but I didn't talk about it because I am not using it as I have a 3 point snowblower as I need the loader to much. I agree that the 2R is better than the 3E as well. I just added 3rd 4th and 5th hydros to it. Not hard to do just takes a few hours.
@roadkillrob6116 Жыл бұрын
@@dunnfamilymaple Glad you still love it and it is just nice that you can add a mid PTO at any time if you ever need it which you can't do on the 3E and is also why I didn't buy a Kubota L3302 as it is not an option there either. Good to hear it is easy to add the extra hydros to it. Thinking of adding block and oil heaters to it for the winter wondering how you find it starts in the cold or if you keep it somewhere warm (I am in New England also).
@dunnfamilymaple Жыл бұрын
@@roadkillrob6116 I never had trouble with it starting. I did add a block heater myself. The part is like $60 and it is kind of a pain to install. I did a video on it showing some of it. It's cheap insurance and does not make you beat on the tractor on cold days. I don't think a oil heater is needed. They do have a magnet ones if you were to go that route.

I got an older 3032e (pre emissions). Its got the fuel tank up on the hood, but it look like when they moved the fuel tank for emissions components. They moved alot of controls like the 4 wheel lever, adding a second filter.
@dunnfamilymaple Жыл бұрын
The hard part with the fuel tank is that on the cab model the fuel tank is on the back. They should have just moved it for both.

I looked over the R and the E quite a bit before I purchased. I went with the 3032E. The price tag wasn't the difference maker, in the end the dealer helped steer me to the E. That fuel tank on the hood would be a breaker for me almost. There's a reason they moved the tank on the E to behind the seat. Great video 👍🏻

Yes, the gas fill-up is a pain. But the non-removable loader on the E series was a deal breaker to me. I have my loader on and off 5-6 times a year on my 3039r. I hate to bush hog with a loader. And the cruise control is a necessity for bush hogging also.

I have an older 3033R epower reverser Great tractor for its size I use older GI plastic cans and a big funnel 5 gallons in in less than a minute The key you’ve already discovered the problem there. Buy a spare as soon as you break the first one, small pick and a magnet will get it out. If you have any real hills and rough sections you’ll see that your left hip will knock your range selector into a neutral which is fun in those gnarly situations. Check my channel to see what I mean about hills. Enjoy!

I haven't kicked it into neutral yet and hope to avoid it.
