John Deere 310G backhoe digging up a stump

Digging up another stump with the backhoe. I've got about 20 minutes of experience so I'm getting a little smoother.

I learned to run a backhoe when i was 14, I've driven one a few times since, but it has been a good 5 years since I dug anything with one.

nice video man, good job on the stump removal too.. i realize this video is from a while ago, but i am starting my backhoe course on Monday and i've been watching some videos.. gotta say, i love this one.. can't wait, watching you dig around and pull that stump makes me excited and anxious about getting in one and starting to operate..i believe our school here uses Cat backhoe's...

Just a tip when your using the backhoe turn the main bucked upside down and lift your front wheels off the ground a bit you would be surprised at how much more stable it makes your working platform.

I started in our gravel pit at 8, was loading trucks at 10. Get the wheels off the ground, it will stay put better. I've had the fully weighted 580 SM on just the stabilizers pulling stumps.

Sorry I may have sent you as a response a vid of a toyota or something. Just wanted you to see our old Deere. Ours is rusty as hell but runs good. The bucket bushings are loose as a goose too. The one in your video looks like it works sweet!

Looks like you're runnin it wide open. Run it at 3/4 throttle and you'll have just as much digging power and be so much smoother.

TIP line up about 15 degrees off your strong eye side so you don't have to look through the boom. This dig is in the middle of nowhere so there's no reason to line up straight on.

Case has a hell of alot more power than a deere or cat backhoe. We had a cat backhoe at the construction company i worked for and it has nothing on that ole 580c Case we have on our farm

I don't like the fat tires on the case, it's worthless in mud. The old Ford 555B I could balance on the rear tires and take anywhere. The Case is also too narrow, we should have got the + version. The older Fords had less power but you couldn't beat their lift capacities for similar sized and age machines.

I see you run full throttle a lot on a backhoe even though I'm 16 going on 17 been on a backhoe several years I know I'm not nearly as experienced as a operator their whole life but I say I what the hell I'm doing

Nice hoe, good job! I just bought mine last summer for $7000 and have tortured the heck out of it for the last year. What's the difference in the numbers and letters on the models. Mines a 1978 310B, with a 3 cyl.
