I did my 318 with a GX630 Honda three years ago and I love it. I have a snow blade and it works so much better with the extra horse power. My only problem is in the summer when it is hot and dry the screen that you cut out for the pump shaft gets plugged and has to be blowen out every so often so to help cool the engine. Good video.

I wish they would sell just the kit without the engine.
@wtbm1239 ай бұрын
Yea , Not sure if any of those companies sell just the parts. There are a few i think that makes these kits , some for briggs also

Just got a Honda gx660 I’m trying to put it in a jd 420 what did you do for the pto clutch I need some kind of a adapter sure could use some help I don’t have a kit
@wtbm1233 жыл бұрын
I used the one that came in the kit . That is why they got the kit so we would not need to figure that out , If you look on repowers web site they may give the part number for it . Or may call them , Also may contact xtreme clutch and they may be able to match up a clutch . If you happen to talk to repower , please tell them you saw my video . Thanks

Helpful video. I too have purchased this kit from Repower Spec. for my jd318. But I have had nothing but trouble with the electrical. My tractor had been worked over a few times and the ground to the dash harness was, at the least, not connected properly. Finally got that made right and now all the weird voltages on accessories are gone. But now I have no power to my ignition wire in start or run. Any thoughts on what might be my problem?
@wtbm1233 жыл бұрын
Hard to say with out seeing , I would have to look again but is that the purple wire in its own connector . Is the key switch good and sending power out when on . Also repower will try and help if you call them , They are nice to work with . If you do talk to them please let them know you saw my video . Thanks , I will have to look at the wiring diagram again and see if i see anything . Wonders if it could be a safety switch , I assume it had power when the onan was in it . if you do not have one you may get a wiring diagram from john deere web site . If not may find one on line by looking up the number on tractor . Hope you get it sorted out , and if you do , could you leave the answer on here so if someone else may run into the same

nice install, why did you re-power?
@wtbm1234 жыл бұрын
Other engine lost a cylinder , broken oil pan , not charging and the owner just wanted to do the re power . He has another one too and will be parts for it

Very nice video! I just recently bought a 318 with the Honda repower kit already installed. When I first looked at the tractor and heard the Honda run I really liked it. I have only had it now a couple weeks so haven't really done any work with it yet. So yesterday I just wanted to take it for a little ride and hear it run. I went down a fairly steep hill and then made a turn and blue smoke just bellowed out the exhaust. I stopped the engine and waited awhile and started it and the smoke cleared as I turned on the side of the hill it did it again but cleared up. When I got back on the road and headed strait up the hill it never smoked again. So I started thinking the worst like a broken ring or some other major problem. Then later yesterday I got to thinking maybe being sideways on that hill may be the reason oil got in the cylinder. Have you ever had this happen on your Honda engine or would you know if this could be a possible? Sorry for the long post

is it over full of oil
