John Deere 757 ZTrak Michelin Tweel Install Airless Tires

Install of a set a Michelin Tweel airless tires on an older John Deere 757 ZTrak. They didn't just bolt on. Had to do some mods.

mossman381 the spacers in the link look wider than the ones in the video are these a different ones that won’t need to be modified to fit?

They make these for skid loaders as well. I would love to try them out on a skid loader. On construction sites nails are everywhere and not always do I need my track machines. Nice thing is you'll always mow evenly side to side, no more tire being low on air pressure on one side and causing the mower to cut unlevel.

Dad got it a long time ago. It is nice. I don't run the lathe right now. I watch dad and he shows me what he is doing.

I've tried since they released to get a set from my local John Deere dealer (Richie Tractor) for my Z920a and keep telling me I can't buy them, only come on the machine. Guess it's ok because I wouldn't have thought about buying wheel spacers and I definitely don't have the skills to machine them out like you did Great video, I can't wait to see how they work for you. I've heard nothing but good thing from some fellow landscapers. Hope scag gets some soon as well.

I was told the same thing at the dealer. They sent me to the sales guy. He looked it up and saw they now have a part # and could be ordered. He called someone and they said he could order them. 3 days later they had them at the dealer. I am probably one of the first people to order them separate from a new machine. Not familiar with all the Ztrak mowers but these wheels are designed to work on the new Z900 series. You can't get them on the Z915. Not sure why. They aren't cheap. A little over $1100. With a new machine they are $850.

They are working great so far. Best part is no checking air pressure and no worries about a flat.

Probably would have had $300 or so in a new set of tires. Been two years and loving not worrying about air in my tires. I guess the way I look at it I spent $1000 but saved $6-7000 by not buying a new mower. I really want the air ride seat the new mowers have too.

I am mostly interested in those type of tires to get better traction on hills was wondering if you have any input also was wondering if it is Easier on grass with turns

When the tires were new they actually had less traction because they had like a wax on them. Once that wore off they work like normal tires. I don't see getting more traction from them. They work just like normal tires but never need air and I don't worry about running anything over. I wish I could get some for the front wheels.

I love them. At first they seemed like they didn't have good traction. It's like they had a wax coating on them but that wore off. Not having to worry about air or running over something is great. The only downside to these tires is the price.

Can you do a vidoe with the old rim and tires and see if an inner tube will work inside of those tires. It looks like they still have plenty of tread.

1. Did you try Mills Fleet Farm? 2. Did you check the stems? A lot of times they dry rot right where, they go through the room.

Not that I have seen. These are just being sold separately from new machines recently.

Not sure. I would love to put airless tires up front but not sure they will work on the older models.

@@mossman381 We have solid tires on the front and they are great. It required several bearings to fit right on the axle. But my frame got bent several years ago so one of them is frequently flailing in the air and landing askew. As a result, the bearings shear. Wish I had a way to fix the frame.

I am pretty sure we picked our lathe up with our Clark forklift. I believe it has a 9000lbs capacity.
