Gotta agree with below, blade downhill, don't carry the boom out and bucket down unless it's steep enough to warrant it. Sometimes I wonder if the committee that makes safety vids like this has ever actually set foot in a machine or spent meaningful time on a jobsite. I mean, good on you for providing time to educate new operators, but a less sanitary approach would make the transition into the jobsite environment less startling.

I have a hidden kill switch in each of my machines, good luck trying to get them started. They cost about $5 per machine.

In addition, make sure you have your bucket well above the ground at the tipping point so you really hit that surface when the bucket comes down, don't worry about being fluid, jerky motions are fine, and as you move with your bucket on the ground, don't feel like you need to move the bucket to reduce any surface damage, somebody else will take care of that.

Center the machine with the trailer before you climb up, not when you're already up, that's how you tear up planks, also by dragging the bucket across the planks is bad too. Machine is not even close to centered

Never drag the bucket as you're unloading, it's unnecessary wear on the back of the bucket

Yeah great until you come to the very end when you start dragging your bucket across ground do that in front of a township supervisor on a paved road see where that will get you.plus I think he tracked down hill with his undercarriage 180deg wrong way.

what a poor video, what does the machine operator do 1.31 into the video? HE TRACKS BACKWARDS WITHOUT LOOKING BEHIND HIM!!!! never mind that "we" can see its clear behind him, HE COULD NOT !!!!!

I honestly think they may have done that to get the viewers attention and have them watch critically... it's much more effective than just telling them not to backup blind. They can 'say' that all they want, and guys will go right ahead and back into stuff.. people, etc~

Not to nitpick, but no pre-trip? Oil? Coolant? Fuel? Grease the machine? "Dude, it's new, it'll be okay!" yeah....ok.

Never lock a machine, every company uses such cheap lock mechanisms that eventually you will be stuck outside of the machine. Insurance is a better option to locking up

At 4:30 climbing up and downhill is completely wrong, I watched a guy flip the machine trying to help the machine pull itself up the hill

The section of the video werenthe operator is working on the slope is a joke. First off put your blade down hill. second using the. oom like that and sliding it down the hill is poor operator skills.

The only thing I can think of why they did it that was was if you start sliding you can put your blade down behind you to maybe slow you down or dig in and stop. In reality if you start sliding, most guys first instinct is to stick the bucket in or on the ground but you might not have enough time to work the blade so IRDK.
