Very helpful video. I followed it step-by-step to change my oil, filter and sparkplug. Saved me a lot by doing it myself instead of taking it into the shop. Audio is a difficult to hear at times.

I find you can avoid trouble by replacing the fuel line every 3 years. Briggs carburetors can clog up with the rubber pieces that flake off the inside of the hose. I own this mower and it works fine.

Thanks for the reply! It looks like they just replaced the JS26 stickers with JS28, that is the only difference I can tell because the features and footprint are the same (judging from your videos). I'll try to post some video of it this weekend.

But this was one of my best decisions yet. My old 15+ year old gas mower snapped its pull string while trying to get it to fire up and instead of fixing it, I chose to upgrade instead.*

yes but the only issue with this mower can rust a little quicker than others and it's damn heavy lifting into the boot when taking it somewhere!!

@@curtisfoy6735 i was always taught to empty a lawn mower's oil lifting forwards not ever on its side to avoid damage to air filter/carby.

I just picked up a JS28, but after watching your video it looks identical to the JS26. Is the any difference between a JS26 and JS28 besides the manufacture date?

Not silly at all. It's a 4 stroke engine, just add fuel.

Remember 4 stoke engines have the oil and gas separately, and the 2 stoke or 2 cycle you mix gas and oil together .

Confused......? I don't cover blade removal in the video. "And I really needed to know how to change a blade!" If you're not interested in this kind of video, why search and watch it? Odd? Yep the finger is funny, mum is a bit new to technology, never mind, she helped and did her best. It was a windy day in sunny Whyalla too, nobody's heavy breathing into the phone, that's just how the day was, you see in the how to we nearly lose a number of things to the wind as we sort the mower.

these john deeres are heavy ..the shute blocks up all the time, they are hopless at picking up grass,you are always emptying the catcher,the single blade design is only good for side shooting ,and results in a untidy cut.the motor is under powered..rubbish! they are cheap for a reason..(bad design)

Don't know much about these John Deere push mowers - John Deere riders are awesome . I work on small engines and the Honda's are fine but over priced machines .
