Hello Matthias, I'm not a farmer. I'm a retired nurse, but as a kid in Cedar Falls Iowa, everyone in the family worked either on the family farm, or in a business that was directly in support of farming. My dad owned an electric motor sales and repair shop, he had a repair route across several counties where farmers could drop off motors in need of repair at the local hardware stores. He would fix them and return them the next time he ran the route. Also there was a lot of industry in the area, the John Deer plant in Waterloo being one of the biggest. My grandpa had a farm implement store in the tiny town of Dike Iowa (long gone now) he sold Massey Harris and later Oliver equipment. One uncle had a welding shop, and a welding truck to perform services at the farm or field. Another uncle ran a grain elevator. I miss those days, so I follow several farm families like yours on KZbin. Zach Johnson (Millennial Farmer) probably the closest to you. After watching a few of your videos I'm subscribed and looking forward to seeing new videos. I think your channel will grow quickly.

Linda thanks for the comment. Cool to see how agriculture is still something you’re interested in and fascinating to learn about how your family was involved in different aspects. The agriculture industry as a whole relies on more people than just farmers, as you know. Admittedly at times, that requires the care from nurses like yourself. Although we try to never get sick or hurt, such is life.

​@HiTech_Farmer Glad to hear from you. I still have a couple cousins in Iowa who are still on the family farm. You mentioned getting hurt, it sure happens in a split second of inattention. One of my cousins got his foot ran over by a tractor he and his brother were working on. He eventually lost the foot due to complications. Tragic, but like farmers do, as soon as he was able, right back in the tractor. I completely forgot to mention I have a cousin who farms in Lanesboro Minnesota. Just thought it's interesting how small the world is.

That’s too bad! Crazy how fast things can go wrong in a hurry. I know exactly where Lanesboro is, have a college friend with a family dairy right outside of town, small world

Great video. I've been watching Larson Farms, Millennial Farmer, Border View Farms, and several others and yours explains things in more depth than others which I believe is good for those who watch that don't understand farming. I worked for John Deere for 40 years and have been retired for 13 years now and I was involved with the early experimenting of this technology and now it's here. Your really the future of farming and have a great attitude. Keep up the good work and that green iron running.

Demonstrating how the technology works. For example, how the combine steers into the rows by itself. People hear of this feature but don't often get to see it in real life application.

I am not a farmer, but I still think the new technology is a good thing. At some point do you think farming will become fully automated?

Some tasks will become automated, but the more intricate tasks like planting will be tougher to automate in my opinion
