John Deere S240 (2016) stopped starting at 66.6 hours (May 7th, 2021).

My John Deere S240 (2016) (lawn tractor) stopped starting at 66.6 hours. There is no warning on the little LCD to indicate what is causing it to not start. Battery has 12.7V with the multimeter, brake sensor looks ok, battery and all connectors are tight and clean. Spent a couple hours so far trying to figure out what safety sensor is preventing it from starting. Not happy.

After days of having to learn the electrical of this lawn tractor, I found the issue. I am going to make a simple troubleshooting video of the safety switches found throughout the S240. I quickly determined it was an electrical issue. The problem was - is it a switch or solenoid. There was limited information online, but I found out there is a purple signal wire that runs to the solenoid - this purple wire carries 12V when you attempt to start the tractor if all of the safety switches are engaged. When I disconnected this line and tested the line - it was only carrying 1.3V sometimes 0.25V. At that point it was a safety switch, I started testing the switches - started with the brake, and then moved to the PTO switch. This is where I found the problem. It was three combined issues that created poor contact. There is a purple (safety switch test_ line in, it was carrying 12V in but out was only 0.3V out - so I disconnected it, found a little corrosion (probably from the wet environment from the snow blower in the winter) and the signal out in the harness had a bent outward plug - making even worse contact). I bent the prong inward for better contact). Next was loose wires, and it was both the purple (signal in) and purple with the white line (signal out) were loose in the hardness plug adapter. I pushed them in, and the safety signal wire to the solenoid was now making 12V. I was able to start the tractor normally. I will make a video detailing what I did in the next day or so.
