Big difference in price between the two tractors new, not really a fair comparison. The choice of tractors are down to personal preference in most situations, all brands do have their problems. In most situations dealer backup is more important that the tractor brand.

*The John Deere doesn't have as good of visibility with the bigger square hood. You also can't work on a John Deere and parts are WAY more expensive. I'd go New Holland ANY day over John Deere, it's not even a question for me*

I think a lot of it comes down to your dealer back up too, they all break whatever colour and if your dealer is rubbish that can be painful.

I'm gonna be bias and say even though it's expensive the fendt 700 series has to be one of the best all round tractors on the market, but out of those two I would plump for the New Holland over the deere

I would go for New Holland. In many ways they have done well having to keep Fords reputation going which was great. What they have done well in the past was not taking stuff away from Ford tractors but adding to it and making it better. New Holland I would pick despite having a John Deere 6115r on our farm!!!

NH any day, please consider the 6 cylinder models like the t6.175 or t7.210 also the Autocommand gearbox is really easy to operate very similar to MF's Dyna-VT

We had a demo t6 180 and it was lovely that dynamic command gearbox got used to it. In two passes with the cultivator so I would prefer new Holland if I was buying a ne tractor

Basildon is an assembly plant - they don’t build anything there apart from screwing components together. If you compare Mannheim to Basildon then the German factory is far superior. Comparing price is like comparing a Dacia to a VW, they’re different prices. The top of the NH dash is same as they had on that range 15 years ago. The styling isn’t a lot different to older NH models.

They way I would personally judge a tractor is how many of them are there around in 10-15 years, you don’t see many old new Holland/fiats but, you see the odd old john deer but what you see a lot of is old Masseys, from the TEF20 to the 390t they are everywhere

Great commit. Perhaps, just stick with the MF65. Great all-round visibility. Bit cold in the winter, and a bit warm in the summer. Should be easier to get parts, if it breaks down in the long term future. Just adjust the machinery to suit the tractor.

I wouldn't compare the wo tacos as one is a semi power shift and the other is a vario also the John deere is 6 and the t6 is 4 I’d compare the 6155r to a t6180 auto command as they are more alike

Are you are saying new Holland will always be cheaper but when I priced a new Holland against a John Deere equivalent the John Deere was cheaper by £1567 but we just couldn’t come away from new Holland as you say it’s what you know

Neither tractor. Go for MF Red. JD, if it breaks down, painted green, easier to loose parked under a hedge or in the woods. Out of these 2, I would go blue New Holland. Look better than the old Ford 10 series, which I feel killed off Ford tractors, with a steering column gear change. How easy will it be to get parts for either in say 30 or 40 years time, off a shelf?

I do wonder if you would lose a bit of power with the other gearbox option on the NH. The powershift style I guess doesn't run a torque converter? I don't know how some of the JD gearboxs are implemented, I guess CVT would be low loss but I would be concerned about the longevity of those.

As a young guy i was and still a Ford fan ( Europe Blue ) what you said about the brands i really liked that !!! maybe Fendt is the best tractor 🤔 !! And New Holland brand is uprising but Deere is by far the best brand there is I truly believe that !! When Fiat bought several brands I don’t know what to think about that but I have admitted they didn’t bad at all. I still miss the European Ford Blue. I’m totally not in agriculture anymore just an admirer and Memories Remains.

I think I would take the 6r. Bigger 6.8l engine, less stress on the motor, more torque and let's not forget that it is a proven platform across the models and years of the 6000 series tractors. I am a big fan of the frame design as opposed to the NH weight bearing engine block. It is also very good at pulling ground engaging implements with a little bit of ballast weight. Yours would be certainly better with the commandpro but even what you have is already really good and I agree with you on the quality of the cab and of the machine overall. Going to a 4cyl t6 in my opinion would be a downgrade especially with the smaller engine, in my opinion if anything, engines should be getting bigger. It's a shame that the computer on yours broke even though I think that the jd satellite guidance system is the best out there.

I work with John Deere and every 5 minutes there breaking down with stupid electronics and the most recent one to go is our 8430 which blew the turbo we had a 2018 6195R which we sold for a new Deutz Fahr 6215ttv and its brilliant

One thing you made a mistake on noting is the hydraulic remotes. The JD do have the release handle, but the new Holland’s have an internal relief. If you push the coupler into the spool, it will release the pressure and then you can pull the hose out with ease.

You can not compare a John Deere 6155r and a new Holland 155 because the John Deere is rated at 155hp to 205hp but the new Holland is at its limit at 155hp it can’t go anymore than that so if you want to compare a new Holland with a Deere you should get a new Holland T7 210 and that why the new Holland is a lot cheaper and it’s also a 4 cilinder so it uses a lot more fuel because it revs a lot more and a lot louder.

Personally I'd go new holland we have 5 tms and two 7840s and the tms are very good tractors and if u go for the basic cab on a brand new. New holland it has the same gearbox and same cab layout which proves why change so thing that isn't broken.

Hi Olly, Never buy a New Holland Tractor , on the Fram I work on we have aT7 190 our 1st one had problems with the ad blue from day one ,our new T7 190 the brakes are bad so is the gear box it keeps crashing , try a Valtra tractor .

we have case and New Holland, they are the same tractor just different colours. but personally out of the two I would go for the new holland just out of the fact that parts are way cheaper than the Deere. But i know how you feel about the gearbox on the JD, im a case man but i loved the JD auto box on silage trailers. you may have been better pitching the Deere against a Puma 150 ? both 6 cylinder and both about the same size.
