So I just installed the Ruegg 3pt hitch on my X720. It turns out the link arms rub against 1 bolt on each side when the pto is fully raised. The JD version link arms have a cut out on the link arms so they can fit around the bolt and don't limit the height of the hitch or scrape the link arms. This is a pretty obvious design issue and it is somewhat frustrating. I'm debating about going to the hardware store to look for bolts with a shallower head or contacting Ruegg to see what we can do to solve this issue. If I hear back from Ruegg, I will try to remember to post an update here.

UPDATE! After a quick email to Bill Ruegg, there were 2 small button black bolts that came with his 3pt hitch kit. These need to be used instead of the original silver colored JD hex nut headed bolts. Then all should work well. There was no mention in the instructions regarding the use of the small button black bolts. For Mike, the guy who made this video, you'll want to switch out the bolts on each side so they don't hit the link arms. Bill said if you don't have them, he can send them to customers who bought his hitch.

I am just seeing this now. I was going to mention the special bolts then the second comment from you came up.

Yes but not padded. And yes on fenders. Very easy.

How hard is it to take off arms, when not in use?
@mikebracht92612 жыл бұрын
Extremely easy, no tools needed. Pull 4 pins. Done.

Hi, I see you have the new arm rest on your seat, are they comfortable ? Also did you install the fenders yourself? Thanks

And what was the purpose of this?

Of what?

Well presented description of your project, but Could you not have simply removed a few bolts attaching the body to the frame to give you direct access to the installation? Curious....?

I thought about it but it would have been even more work. Plus you'd have to remove the gas tank as well.

With you changing that ram 180 degrees are you still able to lift the mower deck when its on? i been thinking of getting the 3 point hitch to use a back blade for snow removal near garage doors I have a x739 i put a cab on it had to do a lot of work to it I got a soft cab cut it down 6.5 inches so it would fit in my trailer then i got angel iron and removed that plastic window they suck and i put a safety glass window same as a car put a manual wiper on the bottom part because i do not have any room at the top I put a small mister heater inside of it and i put led lights one 12 inch one in the front inside the cab next to the windshield had to put some rubber around the light to keep the glare from coming inside the cab and 2 small 4x4 lights in the back on each side.

Yes it doesn't change any of the original operating parts. That's the long arm I address connecting both rock shafts in the video.

The deere 3point is better. I had both and Deere is the way to go. I always got to used a lift at the dealer but when I did a 3pt I also did a rear pto

My neighbor has the John Deere 3 point. Not sure what you mean but the up and down travel is identical. I have no problem at all.

Mike Bracht I had both. I will say the deere arms are wider and comes up that gives little more lift

@@Drewsadventures00 my neighbor and I backed them up to one another. We found absolutely no difference what so ever. I actually like the looks of mine better anyway. Have a great day!

Mike Bracht no different I call bs on that I had both and there was why I went deere after o sold Ruegg’s
@mikebracht92614 жыл бұрын
@@Drewsadventures00 maybe you didn't have it installed correctly. I have no problem what so ever. This isn't even worth arguing about. They both go up with the same cylinder and down with the same cylinder.

Could you show the 3 point working up/down. I saw the john deere working!
@mikebracht92612 жыл бұрын
Not at the moment. I have the cab on and it's attached to the 3 point and the proportion valve is shut so it won't work right now. But I have a boaring video marked something like mowing in the fall or something like that. You can probably see that the striper will move up and down around a foot before the deck will start to move.
