John Dowland: Lachrimae Pavan (Flow My Tears)

This is on my CD "AIR" that can be downloaded from my web shop.
The Lachrimae pavan was evidently a bona fide 'hit' of its age, around 1604. There are many settings for this piece from Dowlands hand. Most known are the Consort setting called 'Flow my teares'.
I love this music; the sadness, desperation and yet... hope for a better life. This is from me to all you out there, telling it's hope!

I haven't heard anybody else pull off that second section ("Never may may woes..") on the guitar before. It's one of music's finest moments, and it's apparently all but impossible to capture on this problematic instrument. Great stuff!
