Appreciated what he said about his regrets of putting work/hunting ahead of his marriage. That’s a message so many men need to hear.

Thank you for taking the time to do this video. I don't like hunting over food sources because I believe that the big deer come to them too late in the evening due to their cautious nature. So, rather than spook them when I get down, I just hunt mornings now. Since 2019, I have killed 2 P&Y bucks and I spend a bit more time with my family. Win/win. Thanks again.

want to talk pressure? how about a 3+ month long gun season. Everyone only adds up ONE factor.... # of licensed hunters, no one talks about the other TWO factors..... # of season days and # of public land acres available for deer hunting.

Key to saddle hunting is to mess with it and demo before season and even during shoot bow out of it and just play around at home with it in a tree and get all your adjustments correct and learn it and you will find it is the best thing to ever hit the market for the hunter especially the public land hunter or long haul guy going deep and being mobile !!!

I've seen a mod someone made to help the hip pinch. It's basically a wooden dowel in between that pushes the straps apart. There's a video somewhere on KZbin.

Mr John !!! Don’t be giving away these secrets now!!! Hahaha I have been beating most of my deer back in the woods for awhile now and it has helped my not just buck harvest but overall deer number sightings while on stand , when I started hunting it did not take long as an adult hunter anyways to realize the old school slipping in around daylight spooking deer out of my general area to where I got earlier and earlier till the numbers of deer I pushed out was some to none! Got set up and as usual the deer would start to pour into timber and I would already be set up and daylight came and the deer were comfortable just walking around me rest of morning !!

4 one sticks with aiders weigh 4 pounds and my saddle weighs 2 pounds, that's a total of 6 pounds. When you use any hang-on stand it will weigh 6 pounds minimum and you still need the same sticks or climbing apparatuses to get up the tree. Also and this is a huge factor, with a saddle you can do so much more concerning moving around the tree and you don't have to carry a cumbersome and bulky stand. Dah.

Just get the eberhart signature saddle. Google it. You'll find it. I have it. It's great. Very comfortable and doesn't take long how to figure out how to keep it from pinching your hips. Just gotta adjust it and practice in it

I imagine a lot of saddles you gotta adjust them and just sit in em awhile to figure out how to avoid hip pinch.

One can learn a lot from John, and clearly he is very knowledgeable and his tactics are effective, but man is he a cocky a-hole 😂😂 sometimes I just laugh at his arrogance, but if you can look past that you can learn alot on what to do in the woods, but not so much on how to act!

Idk how you can throw shade at guys that manage their own private properties like its somehow a massive advantage, then say everyone else is a worse hunter than you because they dont use activated carbon and cameras because its such a big advantage. Most of these people that hunt managed "unpressured" properties dont own 600 acres in Iowa or Ohio, their getting it done on smaller properties that have deer that still see pressure. I also wonder how you legally "prep" trees on public land when your not suppose to cut trees or shooting lanes. 🤔

@johneberhart4062

The size of private managed properties is a valid point, but typically a small private piece is surrounded by other private parcels. But yes, the larger the managed property, the more successful a hunter should be. The ScentLok thing is huge because the advantages it offers for hunters over any hunter that has to hunt 100% according to wind direction, trumps any other form of tactic or hunting plan. Just imagine if you could hunt any location at any time without being concerned about getting winded. Also imagine how many more opportunities you would get over a lifetime of hunting. That can't be denied.

I've listened to a ton of johns KZbin content, podcasts and read his book 'precision bowhunting' and not once has he ever said or insinuated that he's the best hunter and everyone else is a worse hunter than him. You unfairly put words in his mouth. I bet he's killed a bunch more mature bucks than you though. And he did it all on public and private parcels where he had to get permission. How bout them apples bud? And who cares if he cut a few shooting lanes on public. Who made you the police? I'd bet the farm you've bent some rules/laws before yourself. We all have.
