John Etheridge on joining Soft Machine thanks to Allan Holdsworth

Replacing a band member can be a challenge but to step into the shoes of a guy like Allan Holdsworth is very daunting but John Etheridge not only filled his shoes perfectly but proved to be a very worthy successor. For me, he is the definitive Soft Machine guitarist and one of the band's cornerstones. Brilliant guitar player and one of the best in the world.
