I went 2 this game. Both bands battled it out as always. But as far as on the football field, STR came up victorious without question.

Battle for the Age's 97'...Reed Vs The Da K
@mr.gonzales36238 жыл бұрын
i never did like that arrangement of skin by the K, them niggas fucked up that high D tho i went to Abe and nigga always did respect Reed, just dont kno how them niggas kept so many talented players every year. our only real nemesis in my opinion all n all good battle tho
@MrTarpon988 жыл бұрын
Mr. Gonzales it's a "E" fam
@mr.gonzales36238 жыл бұрын
MrTarpon98 No. it's a 3rd octave D, i know cause i used to play trumpet and clearly remember playing this song several times. Unless this arrangement was written with an E for that part, but on the arrangement we played at Abe i know for sure it was a D, fingered with the first valve
@MrTarpon988 жыл бұрын
Mr. Gonzales from what I know, which is on the hand written music, Roy Johnson arrangement a grand E
@mr.gonzales36238 жыл бұрын
Well yeah, i think we must've played totally different arrangements because our skin didn't sound like nobody else's in the city. It's been years but i think the arranger name on the sheet music we had was Gus Walker if i remember correctly. We hit the high D before the breakdown instead of hitting at the end of the song. We just took the end part up after the breakdown so it can be live all the way through
@MrTarpon988 жыл бұрын

Tell that to this generation. Games those days was wars. These new cats swear today's games be better
@EarthAngel5044 жыл бұрын
@@KPicotProductionsEnt Lol really honestly i haven't seen a real intense battle from these cats today. contrast to the old days.. it's 2 completely different worlds. the fact is the band members today are starting on a way lower level than cats back then.even with Karr as big as they are, I still could not see Karr lasting a whole round across from a Pre Katrina Kennedy, Reed, Carver, St Aug or 35.. the mind set and skills are very very different. Old cats knew just the sight on another band was a bloody war, and their skills on the horns were more on a college level, todays bands are more on a middle school level and they don't seem serious or really interested in battling. or maybe, their whole mindset of battling is different. today it's You play something then it's my turn to play, back then it was you play something and when we play we're knocking you out the stadium.. BTW.. Since Katrina, i haven't heard any "Ooohh" from the crowd. that tell you a lot.
@mervinsmith60804 жыл бұрын
@@EarthAngel504 if I can give insight on today’s bands I would say the Same feeling is there how it was back then. The gold is to fux over the other band no matter who they are just to prove your better in every aspect then them like when Karr and Landry play each other every football season it’s really to show who the hell is better than the other and u want to show them who band run the city. I would say it’s not how it was back then only because of education simply!!! It’s not that we are not interested or invested it’s just most people are starting later than usual for a New Orleans band. Middles schools are doing worse than every and because of that they cut the band programs and blame them. I do see it tho, when I went to college 3 years ago band was the only than that mattered...I mean fux grades I couldn’t wait to get into that band room it had a Nîgga like fux lunch and recess just to go practice. Schools saw this and cut band altogether. College don’t have a band nomo because they school doing so bad...then force kids to learn when they in high school and that’s for some of them the first time they know anything. Band directors are not just gone say hey you don’t know a damm thing so u can’t be in the bad...they still take you in to make you a better person than when you left. I think that’s the reason it’s not where it used to be but I mean the passion is there it’s just schools cut the programs because they can’t find a way teacher students the way a band director can.
