Funny thing, I was listening to ZRock back around 1990, got introduced to a LOT of cool metal stuff there, even got my introduction to TROUBLE (Misery Shows, Act II)on ZRock, but they even played CCR Green River amongst all the metal and hard rock tunes (Metallica, Motorhead, Megadeth, Primus, Metal Church, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, etc etc etc).... shows what respect there was for the rock guitar sound of JC Fogerty...love him and them always

This is a kick ass song. The video enhances the meaning so that listeners can form their own opinions as to how it relates to them personally. I remember watching this video in 85 when it first came out on MTV, back when MTV was cool. They played rock and metal and no rap and bubble gum BS! We were all metal and hard rock teenagers. When this played it had all of our attention, simply because the voice. We all knew it was the CCR dude, yes John Fucking Fogerty and we all loved it! Man, time passes so quick. Now it's a classic just like me and all my old friends from the 80's! We also grew up as kids in the 70's where some of the best music that was ever written began. If not the 70's rock, there would be no hard rock and metal! kudos to AC/DC and ZZ-top and everything in between.

With this song, John Fogerty was sued for plagiarism for copying himself. The late Saul Zaentz was the former owner of Fantasy Records during the CCR era and owned the rights to Fogerty's compositions. He unsuccessfully sued Fogerty claiming this song ripped off "Run Through The Jungle". Though there is a similar style in the two songs, the judge ruled in favor of John Fogerty who, by the way, finally regained majority rights to his own songs earlier this year.

When CCR was new to the radiation in OKC , and I was in my first kid band , we played a LOT of their songs . Young and older alike loved their music , and it got us a lot of work . We wore out a few albums setting the needle back to the song's start , over and over , 'til we got it right . I didn't know yet about ASCAP fees for public. " venues " , and I wondered aloud if we should be sending them some money ! In retrospect , it was my first attempt at studying style and composition . I'm near 70 years now , and I still listen to and play Fogerty's music ! I don't mean for this to sound like it's about me . All that stuff is just point of reference . This music is as great as any , and really tells relatable stories . It's up to ALL OF us to see it lives on !!!
