I came across a female romance scammer a while ago. Said she was from a neighboring town (like less than 5 miles away). I was asking questions that only a local would know. She had no idea what I was talking about and QUICKLY changed the subject how she was working for UNICEF and was in a different country, send money because she was stuck in a hotel and no way to pay for it, etc etc.

People, people THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS "A MARRIAGE BANK ACCOUNT"! How could people NOT know that?! How could any Anerican citizen NOT know that the military covers EVERYTHING?! For God's sake, they even supply soldiers with socks! How could these " victins" not know this? 🙄🙄🙄

It’s easy in the ears and your so compassionate about all the stories you read and tell for us … Things r lil different here cause he said he has a mom or dad right and the daughter stays there so that slightly different him having family NOT the Nanny story with my kid and we gotta pay thousands to my nanny for my kid.. BUT maybe he doesn’t mention the nany story cause everyone does . And it’s always about money to give to nany n the kid. So slightly different

the other message here, i think is.. if you have concerns, ask someone else. she got her friends involved to assess the situation with her and that was smart. this should be done from the get go. she would have found out that there are no "military minutes". he also wouldn't have had hours and hours to chat with her if he was really in the military "on a mission". glad she didn't get her photos sent all over either because they will do that if they have access to those people in your life. don't ever send compromising photos to anyone online.. even if you know them. relationships end, can go bad and even someone you were madly in love with in real life could blackmail you with photos or just do it out of spite. glad she is ok though and learned and probably won't make that mistake again.

Even if the person you've met online is 100% real, asking someone if they own or rent their home is just plain rude and should enters "red flag" territory.

I reeeeally don't understand how ANYONE with a brain could fall for any of these people. What kind of nut job would send money or gift cards to someone who told you not to tell anyone about your relationship?? She drew the line at the scammer not knowing German because being told to LIE about the reason you were sending $5000, TWICE, was totally acceptable. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!!!! We're supposed to feel sorry for the victims of scams and we're all made to feel like "it could happen to anyone." Absolutely not. Not everyone is oblivious to complete nonsense. This lady was more then willing to send money right over, willingly. I don't feel bad for her.

These guy's know somehow. I was contacted on FB messenger during my divorce. He was in Iraq on a secret mission 😂. Year's ago. I noticed he had a few of my friends who actually fell for it and sent $$$. I felt so bad for here and I certainly knew no secret mission in a fox hole could message me. Reported and blocked.
