We thank God for man like John G Lake, who were mightly used by God. He knew that divine healing was bread for the kids. The same way you receive salvation from God is the same way you receive healing from him. His quote sums it up well GOD ALWAYS WAS THE HEALER. He is the healer still, and will ever remain the Healer. Healing is for YOU. Jesus healed, "all that came to Him." He never turned any one away. He never said, "It is not God's will to heal you," or that it was better for the individual to remain sick, or that they were being perfected in character through the sickness. He healed them ALL. Thereby demonstrating FOREVER God's unchangeable will concerning sickness. Thank you for sharing.

There is truth here in that it is good to depend upon God completely for everything, certainly as the first provision, and it is also true that some ways we depend upon things which are not God, is abominable (witchcraft, power of positive thinking, mind over matter etc.). I agree with him more than most faith healing and word of faith teachers, in that he illustrates the goodness in being prepared to die for the sake of being totally dependent upon God and nothing else. He ought to apply that thinking consistently and without contradiction throughout his teaching. We serve God, God does not serve us. Of God chooses to not heal our bodies, then he may do so for his own reasons, our worthiness is irrelevant. None deserve anything from God.

I totally believe that Jesus heals the sick for I have experienced divine healing from staph and small pains. I am not against doctors because God has given man wisdom in regards to these things as well. I read a report that a family failed to bring their sick child to the doctor after weeks of being sick. The family prayed and prayed and the child died. The parents are now in jail for neglect. I don't fully understand these things but we should use our wisdom and also our faith. Jesus took on flesh but because his body didn't have sin until he was on the cross sickness could not come to him. He took our sickness and infirmities willingly. Jesus was tempted in every way but he never sinned. And the bible says that the wages of sin is death. Which means that If Jesus was never crucified he could still have never tasted death. But our bodies are not like his. They will be when we receive our new bodies at his coming.

As your faith is so be it unto you. Not everyone has the faith to believe for Healing. Until they can come to that place to believe then if they have to go to the doctor they better go. If not your unbelief will let you die. The problem is to many people that are sick or have problems in their body dont read the word of God enough and meditate in the word. They need to listen to video teaching and preaching on F.F. Bosworth and T.L. Osborn very good teaching on Healing. Keep listening and Keep praying and Keep reading until you are Healed. Dont quit ask, seek, knock your healing will come.

William Crockett, What a devine John G. Lake voice and narration God has put to use in you. I heard one of your J.G.L. narrations about a year ago while falling asleep. And one sentence woke me briefly but not long enough to find it the next day. I thought I’d find it today in this sermon but I didn’t hear it, yet this sermon speaks to what I’ve seen and experienced in the world of allopathic medicine the last 25 years. The sentence was something like “when you realize that man’s medicine can’t heal you, and God can, you’ll never go back…..” This is a weak paraphrase but I want to hear that sermon again and I know it was your narration. I pray to find that particular sermon again!

To consecrate our body, soul and spirit is to commit our entire man. If we are fully consecrated to the Lord, we stop looking for help from the way of the world. The devil tempts us to doubt God as our Physician, our healer. James chapter 5 is very explicit. Confess your sins to one another. I am done with doctors, and the ways of the world. I am depend on, rely on Jesus for my healing, to meet all my physical, spiritual and mental needs. Deliverance comes from God. Satan is a subtle old devil but the Lord gives us His faith! Thats right! Because that is unbelief! It is used at times. To confirm an actual (attack) or evidence of a sickness manifestation. But then to show others its reality and when they are healed/ show the manifestation of healing as we were healed by His stripes, then others would know, yes in fact they were showing signs ( of the attacks of the spirit of infirmity) and now they do not. Thanks to the proof of the word of God and a sign of Jesus working with them confirming with signs and wonders! In this, God is good!

God is the ultimate healer,not doctors.All the medicines given have side effects. Doctors misdiagnosed me for years and always gave me antibiotics and tests and they never looked at the full results.I was given birthcontrol and that messed me up,I took it for the first time when I was 37yrs.old.How about people that aren't insured all they have is God ,Jesus and the Holy Spirit,no appointment necessary ,no bills or side effects. I don't like it when people say this doctor is a Christian,they are still worldly .I worked in a few churches and the Christians there are still worldly.My trust and faith is in God not man.Doctors always want to cut things out of you and prescribe meds.They give meds for the symptoms but not the root of the problem,you won't be healed by meds.I don't see how anyone would want to live life taking meds. Everyone is entitled to make their own choice.

God blesses doctors too and sometimes with real special knowledge to know what to do to help people. God also made one bodies with special props=Ernie’s to heal ourselves that why scratches and burns will hill with just a band aid. It should never bee offensive to go to a doctor or take medicine but we need to pray for the doctor to have the knowledge. To pray for the hands of the surgeon to pray for our bodies that they will respond to the medicine or the treatments to recover in a speedy manor then we do need to pray to walk in good health because it is gods will for us to be healthy and prosper .god has given doctors so much new techniques and knowledge since lake’s day that’s why we dont bleed people any more. I believe all good things come from god and god means for us to use these things when we need them. Thanks to god there is no out break of tb any more like there was when my daughter was one yr old and the doctors could do nothing. Now there is a cure so parents dont need to go through what i did. I do believe in Devine healing i believe that is a miracle. I also believe Babies can be healed when you take them to a doctor and their bodies respond to the treatment that too is a healing by god both are his will. We should not love our cars or possessions but we sure should drive them and enjoy them. That is why god allows inventions for man to enjoy not to worship. Or even love. Pray and god will tell you when to see a doctor if you dont feel good about it dont go. But dont tell someone else not to go. That it is a sin to go if you are a christian that’s a lie.

Jesus NEVER praised doctors! He only had good words towards physicians. Doctors practice alcamy physicians physicaly manipulate the body, to promote healing. Only one who lacks in understanding goes to doctors! Not even knowing their authority over all sicknesses and all diseases! So lacking in trust towards God . So lacking in Faith in his word. As this message was focusing in on the key which is consecration! I saw more healings in the prison ministry and in the old folks home where they had alzhimers than in the regular church!!! The churches of america are mostly given over today to the u. N. Doctorins. They are into the social aspects. They are into dividing the family in the church, they are into the "God is love " message and neglect the part spoken of and so often demonstrated that He IS A GREAT AND TERRIBLE GOD. TODAYS pastors are extremely ill equiped! They have the word they have some doctrine but many go to the internet for a message! Wtf? They do not know how to get a word from God for their flock! They do not understand the gifts of the spirit, they do not know how to identify the gifts of Christ. They lack so much in knowledge of Spiritual matters! Thats why you dont see much in the way of signs and wonders fallowing their preaching. Mark 16 the last half shows what is supposed to fallow (true) preaching of the word! But since so many are only religious about their messages you wont see much unless a person of real faith has been praying there! Fasting and praying seeking asking and knocking until you get an answer , thats what it takes!

I have been reading in the books of Kings King Hezekiah, which pleased the Lord in his ruling of Judah after a long string of evil Kings that lead all of Israel astray. Hezekiah got a sickness into death, the Lord told him he would die, and he was only 39 years old. He wept before the Lord reminding him that he ruled righteously, tearing down high places etc. The Lord gave him 15 more years. That was under The Law, we are under Grace, justified by Christ himself, bless God.

Is interesting that John G Lake compares going to a doctor as sin against God. Yet in his sermon he was sick for 9 years taking the medication of the time, I would suggest if he hadn't taken the medication he wouldn't of been alive long enough to get faith to be healed but after being healed it seems he is totally against doctors. God only heals! If you die believing God for healing how is that bringing glory to God? I would suggest stay alive till you have faith, then walk in God's healing.

I agree that he is being overly hard on use of doctors for the average person to take. I have also heard testimonys where God arranged for the best doctors in the world to treat ones He loves and highly favors. So God does condone doctors and uses them. However, if we achieve a higher level of faith like John G Lake did - which is a gift from God in itself truly - then we can stop needing doctors because by our faith we will be healed from that point forward provided that we keep following the Lord and keep our faith strong.

@LaoshiJ Well even that can go both ways logically. People would say if you go get confirmed that is doubting Jesus healed you and you might then lose the healing by doubting. On the other hand, others say get it confirmed so that nobody can doubt your testimony and you'll have doctor signed proof of your miracle. Both kind of make sense. The Bible doesn't say explicitly either way.

grogersupci You're right, as Haris above noted, Luke himself was a doctor. I think, and this is just my opinion, that John G. Lake was agitated towards people who would go to God for soul issues then solely rely on doctors for healing. God should be relied upon for both for sure, but He can use doctors for the process. If you get cancer, for instance, and your faith is in medicine it's misplaced. You should still get treatment, but the faith is in Jesus, the medicine is a tool. That's the way I see it. The "faith" movement awhile ago taught this same thing, that if you were ill, and you weren't healed right away it was because you didn't have enough faith. That's a huge error. As you say, use wisdom and discernment when we are sick, eat right, exercise, get medical attention, but keep the faith that God can and will heal you.

haris softic I think you're right haris, God can use doctors as well, as you pointed out Luke was one. I got diagnosed with frontal lobe epilepsy a year ago, and I believe I am healed of it even though the doctors say I'll have it for life. Yet, I still take medication for it still, because I haven't had a peace about going off of it. I've been seizure free, but still think I should stay on my meds...not sure why, but I'm going to go with what I believe the Holy Spirit is showing me. The anointing is without repentance, and the rain falls on the just and the unjust alike, so I think you're right again...that healing is accessible to all. Sin is not always (but can be a huge culprit to health issues) why we have ailments. I'm not sure why John G Lake was so against medicine, but what I got from reading his book (just started it), he had a problem with relying solely on doctors for healing, and God for soul issues. I believe we can use doctors for healing, but still rely on God for both soul issues and healing, if that makes sense.

Father God can say who is right. By meditating on the word of God whilst guided by the Holy Spirit we can be given discernment, wisdom and biblical instruction to guide us. Also with discretion we can use the results of our personal experience to test if our choices were wise. I have found doctors to be very human and fallible like the rest of us, sometimes I received good advice, sometimes it was mistaken and harmful. Paul was often stoned and physically abused and most likely received medical assistance in cleaning the wounds and applying herbal medicine. Or do you think that every time he was wounded he just prayed over the dirty wounds and bruises and they miraculously healed? May God give us wisdom in all these things and help us to live to glorify him.

I was directed to John Lake sermons, but hearing his take on his spiritual beliefs and opinions, I question why prayer and help from man to ease and help with pain or any other issue is a sin. I believe in prayer and help from others. I agree drugs for pain is not a great, I think herbs and the fruit of the land can help with pain and illnesses, but sometimes medicine is required as well as prayer. Have you experienced Jesus in your life? Divine Healing is a fact and one of the fact Jesus died on the cross, dont try to misinterpret the ministry and the Bible.
