The people he hung were not just mutineers, they were his lieutenants: from left to right it was the First Steward (Bowen Marsh), First Builder (Yarwick), First Ranger (Thorne) and his own personal steward (Olly). I’m thinking Edd and the Wildlings killed any of the other traitors but left the leads for proper trial.

The Oath implies that death is the only thing that releases you from your duty of the Night's Watch. John technically died so he's free.

Ser Arthur Dawyne was the top dog back then. Ned "lied" to protect Arthur`s honor. Instead of getting back stabbed he died in a honorable fight. Ned even send Arthur's special family sword back as a token of respect. And please check out the deleted scene with pycelle and tywin. It explains so much and its sad they cut it.
@jesusbarbosa10808 сағат бұрын
Like the folks are saying. Jon's watch ended, his oath given that he was technically "killed". Guess whoever wrote the oath had no stipulations for revived watchmen. Good reactions amigos. Carry on and SEVEN Blessings!

You know, we here watching you watch the show for your 1st time -- we can't even remember what we forgot when it was our 1st time. Don't feel like you have to edit anything out. When you're on you 15,265th re-watch, like us, then you'd have a reason to be embarrassed. Until then, you'll probably still get called out for sh!t no matter what, because this is the Game of Thrones online support group, and we're never going to recover.

Imagine if the wildlings hadn't come in time to save the last of Jon's friends. I think Olly, Ser Alliser and the others would be so shocked to see them return to life as part of a White Walker army of the dead. I wonder if they'd feel guilty after realising Jon's warning wasn't a lie.

Regarding Neds' confrontation with Ser Arthur Dane, I don't think Ned lied per se. I think Jojen's dad Howland (the guy who stabbed Dane the way Ned would get stabbed years later) started the rumors and Ned never bothered making the correction. Bran may have heard the story a thousand times, but definitely not from Ned.

Peeks into the past are in small clips all season 6. We argued if Bran really could influence the past. (And if there could be new memories or events.) It helps to know names of everyone at Tower of Joy. Yeah, if you stay too long, you are spoiled too soon.

Ollie was a kid whose parents and everyone he knew were killed by the Wildlings. They even told him they were going to eat his mother. I don't blame him for what he did. I probably would have done the same. And then I would have eaten Jon too. Just a little but enough to make my point.

I know people have said it, that "Jon died, so his watch has ended" but *technically* the oath was "from this day, until my last day" - and seeing as Jon came back from the dead...he had not had his last day. So again... *technically* he broke his oath.
@bizhop29 сағат бұрын
He should be able to give up the lord commander title. He died and that life died with the watch. His new life was not pledged to the wall.

Ned technically killed Arthur Dayne with that last slash of his sword. He never fully disclosed that Howland Reed stabbed him in the back in order to preserve his friend's honor. So he still did the honorable thing.

Dany climbs into a funeral pyre on her own and comes out with 3 previously extinct dragons, then conquers like 1/4 of the world as a teenager. Jon is brought back from the dead by the powers of some other witch woman, and everyone thinks he is the chosen one 🤦

45:50 just wanna point out their necks didn’t snap. they wouldn’t have been dancing around like that if they did. this method of hanging is called a short drop and is brutal and can last minutes, sometimes upward of 15.

37:58 i’ve seen this scene a thousand times, but it suddenly just clicked for me how good of a response “which name would you like a girl to speak” is. the waif is trying to get arya to admit that she wants to kill her. arya asks which name she’s looking for, but the waif is no one, so she can’t respond. am i reaching?
