Tribute of the Teflon Don, Dapper Don John Gotti made by me. Includes lots of rare footage of Gotti acquired from many different documentaries, movies etc.
Song is Jay & The Americans - Cara Mia. Sang by friend of Gotti's - Jay Black. Allegedly this is one of John Gotti's favorite songs.

@Alexandra Devine Both. Angie was hooked and a few others.. Castellano had the perfect pretext to get rid of Gotti, but when big Paul got arrested on the wire taps it turned out he wasn't so averse to drug dealing himself. That hypocrisy only compounded Gottis hatred for Castellano, hence the hit outside the steakhouse. The whole deal and die rule was a myth. It brought in too much money to be ignored. For all Gottis faults, and their were many, his loyalty towards his crew was beyond reproach.

+Deins Zukovskis Yes, he was in a big way, but you can't deny that bringing back up all those murders up in that appartment above the Ravenite was smart, especially considering the immense scrutiny from the government he was under. The Chin would never have done that.. But then again, everybody has a different personality and the Chin also got busted in the end. It is not a level playing field if you go against the U.S. government..

+Deins Zukovskis You're both correct. Despite Castellano being caught out on tape himself, he was much more reclusive and discreet, as any successful crime boss should be. Gotti's flamboyant nature helped sink a sinking ship that much faster. Regardless, he was just another murdering sociopath glamorised and glorified by the dumbass public, media and fanboys on KZbin.

I've been following this stuff for years, and Gotti was nothing more than a street thug. I give him respect for staying true to his oath, but that's it. Theres no glory or respect in that life...its all a fairytale, and treachery is the only thing that's real. Gotti destroyed that family and it still hasn't recovered. Having a "tribute" for a man who barely raised his kids, often went to jail and left his wife to do everything ...what kind of a man is that? I dont know, when I first started following the mob, I bought into all the bravado and tales of honor and respect, but I quickly learned it's all crap. And especially today. The mob has been decimated and it will never be what it once was. The FBI is all over them and anyone stupid enough to be a wiseguy nowadays is pretty much guaranteed a lengthy jail sentence.

People always ask what's the fascination by the public, most men don't have the balls to eat their 100 year sentence and never say a word. flamboyant mans man, but shouldn't have been boss.

Gotti looked like a mob boss, but was one of the worst bosses in the history of the mob...he singlehandedly destroyed the Gambino Crime Family due to his big mouth.
