I miss you and love you billy. I’ll see you next time around. Thank you John for a song worthy of the man.

Pardon the hyperbole, but this might be one of the most beautiful songs I've heard in a long time. And I don't know who Billy is, but if someone wrote a song like this about me, I'd love him for the rest of my life.

I'm Billy. I want to believe the song is about me. Once John Grant meets me it will be! 😂

John Grant, I don't know you and this probably won't get to you, but I just want to do my bit and try and send some love your way. Your music is simply sublime (I know, ofc you know!). Boy from Michigan and Billy are two of your best pieces and if the other tracks are anything like these two, you should be given your own spaceship or something of equal awesomeness and value as compensation. When I saw your performance of Disappointing on Jools Holland a few years back, you managed to fill a void in my soul. Your performance was mesmerising. Please keep your energy and creativity channelled and don't die early from drugs. xxx

Thanks for the recommendation. I went straight to Later to see that great performance. To return the favour, check out Tilted by Christine and the Queens on the same show, home of some of the greatest performances in history.

It's a truly magnificent piece of songwriting and a glorious realisation in terms of performance and production. JG has the 'bittersweet' cornered and corralled and turned out in exquisite, disheveled style. I can relate. I'm an old man with many a treasured scar. Some of those key changes make me collapse.
