Hannes Hu as a straight dude this song is so powerful. So refreshing to hear a gay artist wear his heart so freely. Beautiful

That just makes me smile, wonderful. Such an emotive voice & the control of the fingers on the piano at the end. ahhhhhh ((:

O.k, so I realise this might lose me a few man points or whatever, but this guy pouring his heart out made me more than a little dewy eyed. Nope, actually fuck that - I cried. There it is. I said it..

Coops88 you’re not alone, this is beautiful and so heartfelt. Rare to hear a gay artist sing so freely.

Mindblowingly wonderful. We saw John play in an intimate chapel venue in Brighton earlier this year. When leaving after a magnificent show, he was at the door thanking everyone for coming; someone stole his laptop while he was doing it. The world is full of beauty and misery...

This is the rarest of instances that KZbin auto-played something I not only have never seen before, but something that is particularly timely and relevant. Allen Toussaint reportedly just died yesterday. So I'm completely in the mood for just seeing him - as he enjoys John Grant's performance here. And John Grant's guest vocal on the new Tom Robinson song "Cry Out" was what I was playing before this. For once, a really good segue, KZbin Robot!

+OutGayMusic And John Grant (on his facebook account) shared his deep sadness at the passing of Allen Toussaint. And Sam Smith just announced on twitter and all over that one of his all-time favorite movies is WEEKEND that features John Grant's music ... you probably already know all that .. Cheers!
@OutGayMusic9 жыл бұрын
hokulealinda Thank you. Because, no, I *didn't* know all that! (There's lots to know! And I'm not big on Twitter-following. And Facebook is utterly useless at feeding me musician news, despite that I've Liked >1000 musicians and bands.) So all that's news to me, but neither is a surprise. Musicians with taste, like those two, speak glowingly of great artists.

When my wife heard this song that was playing in other room she thought that this is Nina Simone. Truly, the beginning sounds like "Black is a color of my true love's hair".
