i'm going to say that the song is all about, perhaps mostly in the later years, you realize that love is an illusion so you go out, buy a dog and train the shit out of them, because they will listen to you and follow you without conviction, then enter them in shows so you can prove to everyone that you have trained them, made them perform well and that the dog loves you, making you appear to be smart and loved. because that's what's important to you. to validate your life where you couldn't because nobody would love you because your controlling and manipulative. but a dog will. like the crazy cat lady. except that cats are too smart.
@willyking70076 жыл бұрын
Why do we show and title our dogs? Not just a brag, not just a stepping stone to a higher title, not just an adjunct to competitive scores, a title is a tribute to the dog that bears it, a way to honor the dog, an ultimate memorial. It will remain in record and in memory for as long as anything in this world can remain. Few humans will do as well or better in that regard. And though the dog itself doesn't know or care that its achievements have been noted, a title says many things in the world of humans, where such things count. A title says your dog was intelligent and adaptable, and good-natured. It says that your dog loved you enough to do the things that please you, however crazy they may have sometimes seemed. And a title says that you loved your dog, that you loved to spend time with it because it was a good dog, that you believed in it enough to give it yet another chance when it failed, and that, in the end, your faith was justified. A title proves that your dog inspired you to that special relationship enjoyed by so few; that in a world of disposable creatures, this dog with a title was greatly loved, and loved greatly in return. And when that dear short life is over, the title remains as a memorial of the finest kind, the best you can give to a deserving friend, volumes of pride in one small set of initials before or after the name. A title earned is nothing less than love and respect, given and received, and permanently recorded.

There's something wrong in the whole idea of pets, because they don't have choice. Do somebody training friend or lover for some competition to getting prize? Like 'Please, look here, this is my husband. He can do this and that, isn't he sweet and handsome and in a good shape? Yes, you can touch him, he doesn't agressive and very friendly". Well, I think some BDSM people does.

I agree. It seems he wants to kill his career by insisting on making electronic shiy that only few like. If the new record is like this single, I won´t buy it and won´t follow John Grant anymore.
@puespilla6 жыл бұрын
FIrst single and main title, so it should be one of the best from the new album. Let's hope Paul from Midlake has done something close to "Marz", "It's easier" or "Where dreams go to die". Those songs were true magic, not this one. You can progress and change your sound, it's reasonable, but trying to keep some quality to the results.
