This isn’t formal, but I've always thought of Maximum Entropy (in the realm of parameters) and Solomonoff Induction as the inductive equivalents to Oakham's Razor.

As a biologist, this lecture perform a clear mathematics-biology of life algorithm. The size of your input data can be described as the growth size of molecules, cells, tissues, sub-species, species, individual, community, population, etc.
