This man read so profusely until he became blind.And I remember as a child when the Black Panthers came to the Bronx around 1965 they refused to use the term Negro.And they explained their reasoning exactly like Dr.John Henrik Clarke.And I can tell you the first things the Panthers emphasized was that they were there not to preach hatred of the White man but knowledge of one's self and self awareness. The Panthers encouraged us youngsters to read the works of as many Black literary giants of the day.James Baldwin could run circles around any intellectual at that time. I loved Dr.Clarke& Dr.Ben Yosef.And thats just to name a few.

@@johndoe9362 Dr Mary Lefkowitz is a liar that has been challenged by Dr Clarke. She has no credibility. Her book is just a tirade against black peoples as she does everything she possibly can to try to continue the indoctrination of the average white person. Sounds like those people that say that Aliens build the pyramids.
@johndoe9362
@johndoe9362 Жыл бұрын
@@olurow9092 Are you joking? I really can't believe that you could be serious. Dr. Lefkowitz id a PhD in anthropology. She's a Greek classisist. She's a doctor. The fact that you don't respect Lefkowitz is a reflection of your lack of education. You clearly lack formal education. Henrik Clarke never graduated from high school. Google: "Henrik Clarke New York Times" or go to his Wiki page. He never graduated high school and was discredited as a black demagogue. The fact that you believed that Clarke was credible and Lefkowitz is not is a blatant example of your bias against objectivity. You're confused and so desperate for racial pride that you set the bar so low to convince you that black Africans had any relevance in building the modern world. The Egyptians were a Semitic, Caucasian people. Your comment is both shocking yet predictable. Middle-aged black males are desperate for racial pride and will convince themselves of almost anything they read to achieve it. Did you watch the debate between Dr. Lefkowitz and Clarke? Trust me. You don't know what you're talking about.

And then some, I appreciate your disclosure regarding your lack of education. In light of your lack of education, do you believe that you're educated enough to determine if Clarke was credible? Hail my brother, I’m a Jamaican man, age 62, living in the state I n I has always been intrigued by our ancestors, such as Marcus Garvey. Dr Clark. Bob Marley. Peter Tosh. Malcolm X, just to mention a few However, I n I noticed that there is this major division, that has been active among black folks, at home and abroad, regarding the issue of black Americans and Jamaican, and Africans verbally disliking one another, on the basis of who were in slavery, who is an American, etc etc, and trust I n I it’s frightening that at this stage of lives, we’ve been using our freedom, to maintain divide and conquer, instead of recognizing bloodlines over borderline This tells me, that we’re yet to emancipate ourselves from this mental slavery that has been robbing my brothers and sisters of their self esteem, at this point, we need our own banks (Bank Of The Diaspora) is needed, our own infrastructure is vital going forward, my friend, now more than ever, unity is essential, wherever blacks are, how can this be achieved, how about music? Of course, music were, used to diminish apartheid in South Africa, yes music has lost it’s consciousness, especially when it comes to the message Currently I’ve been penning songs of cultural heritage, hopefully it will get across, in order to nourish the minds of one’s and one’s, anyway one Africa

His history isn't very accurate. For someone who spoke out against "white history" as being corrupted and wrong, he didn't think it important to check the facts in the books he read. Don't believe "white history," or "black history," but look into the fact yourself. He did not do that, he found a narrative that sounded better, and just ran with it.

Whenever listening to Professor John Henrik Clarke he always blow my mind, I often wonder how on earth can he retained so much information, man this is crazy. Listening to his break down of history, he made it seems so simple, no mental gymnastics, straight to the point, what a wonderful gift he had. There was even something more special about him, he never bite his lips to speak the truth, and that was always refreshing about him. My favorite black Historian, because of his bravery, I have always painted a picture of him saying, I don't give a dam what anybody thinks, the truth was his shield. "The bravery of the man" what said about Alexander Greek, he was a drunk,that did it for me, that one was new to me. The European painted such a great picture of him, and the look on his face when he was saying that. Is like he was almost about to say, he was an idiot, because he drank too much. Thank you for sharing, it was good to hear his voice again, but however it made me felt a little sad, but that's apart of ourselves, no one can live forever, right. Thanks again.

Despite the negative connotations of the term "Black" many positive and prolific images come to mind. Elegance, regal beauty, talent, genius, art, poetry, science, epic victory, excellence, royalty, resilience, inventors, warriors, mothers, family, fathers, relatives, tribes, kingdoms. Dr Clark was always on point and I really adore a lot of his teachings. because ironically, it always hold relevance no matter what year. it is this just shows. you how backwards we are that this man made this, did this interview in 1973. 48 years ago and yet nothing has changed. That just go to show you the world that we live in. 🤔🖤💚💛🌟🖤🌟💚🌟💜🤧🐩😭

I have my apartment in Queretaro,Mexico now, and will be arriving on November 2, 2021. 1-800-GOT JUNK did an excellent job of removing my stuff, so now I own 2 suitcase and a backpack. I always saw EL GRITO parades in Acapulco since 1962. I speak Spanish as a second language I stay at home and order groceries. I tour online. I traveled from age 20-73, and now at 79 next month, I am contented being home watching you beautiful people. Stay blessed always. Look up Vicente Guerrero and his museum in Cuahiniculapa, Gro. Black people throughout this world need to come together no matter where you are from! To say I am Jamaican, African American, or any other black person in this world... You will always be A black person, and that's what black people must focus on and begin to truly care about each other all over the world. This is the only way black people will ever come up, by standing by each other!!!! There's no other way family!!!!

That would be nice. But in reality. We are one race. As stated in the video, white people created the word race. To separate themselves from all other races. Think about this, who came up with the word minority and why? One race gets to say, we're the majority, and you're the minority. Where is that written in stone? The sad part is, that we accepted it as facts. 🫤
