The fist dancer is the best because she danced closest to proper Irish dancing both with her step and timing. The others put far too much unnecessary choreography into the music...

Credit to all the Irish dancers ( I am an Irish dancer but not in that video ) I just wanted to ask, isn’t this illegal, I mean you’re not supposed to record and then posted on KZbin as far as I’m told by the judges and the one who started all the feis’s.

This wasn't a regular competition. It was showcasing champions of the day and the video was organized and authorized by the feis director.

@@majesticwolf2743 I meant it as an encouragement/compliment. It happens so many times that I see people continue to record video even though the crowd has just been publicly adressed that it is not allowed to do so that it's nice to read about someone else to consider this rule at all ;)

@mummydusst3 жыл бұрын
Traditionally, ladies would curl their hair to perform, but they designed wigs to make hair easier to do. The style has been getting bigger recently (:

Isn’t there rules about the length of the skirts? No more than FOUR inches ABOVE THE KNEE? Looks more like TEN INCHES. When the girls bend to bow to the judges and the musicians, they are showing their kick-pants to everyone.

@catherinekrol6064 жыл бұрын
It is just a part of Irish dancing 🙂
@ramywiles4 жыл бұрын
The tradition used to be that you'd wear your "Sunday Best" to compete, and curling your hair was part of that if you were a girl. That stuck going forward. I don't have an exact year on when the wigs started to appear, but my guess would be either late 90s or early 2000s, after Riverdance and LotD popularized Irish dance. I'm grateful for the wigs, to be honest -- my hair can't hold a curl to save its life 🙃
