I was there, I was 16, it was unbelievable. I have seen all four of the Beatles, just not together I Saw John first - Above (Lennon was only 34) I saw George twice I saw Paul in the Wings over America Tour (triple album) I saw Ringo with his all stars. .

Cool to have seen all four in concert. My first concert was Boston, with Blue Oystercult opening for them. I was only 13 years old, and went with my older sister and the boy who wanted to date her. My mom thought it would be good to have another person there to chaperone in a way. I'm not sure I was the best chaperone, breathing in a ton of ambient pot smoke. Whenever I hear "Don't fear the reaper," I vividly remember that night.

I was at this show back in 1974 as well. I was sitting in the yellow seats. Lennon had made a bet with Elton that he didn't think "Whatever Gets You Through The Night" would be a hit. Elton bet him that if it was he would want to perform with him onstage at one of the NYC concerts (there were 4 of them at that time, two at MSG and two at Nassau Coliseum). "Whatever Gets You Through The Night" was a hit and Lennon kept his word. It was the last time Lennon performed live onstage.

The Super8 film can be flying spot transferred to video tape or digital file. Once it is in a digital file putting in the music recorded from the act is easy. The quality of Super8 is excellent - it is broadcast quality. You may be pleasantly surprised.

@mommamaxx Greetings from Australia again ! Did you see other spectators with their own camera's? Geez if this 11-28-74 show was taped in it's entirity why doesn't Elton put it out, warts and all ? That MSG atmosphere was just electric. That's certainly what comes accross especially on the opening songs and the Lennon tracks!

@flyingscience As far as I know the record company, in this case Elton's, pays royalties not to Lennon/McCartney as composers, but to the publisher house of the song in order to have permission to record a cover version of any copyrighted song. The publisher then pays a % to Lennon/McCartney as composers. I guess this is independent of the friendship between Elton & John. BTW b side of the original 45 is "One day at a time", also written by Lennon and he appears playing guitar on both sides.

She was sitting right in back of us and she was sitting with Andy Warhol. She was wearing a white pants suit. At the actual concert where John reunited with Yoko back stage? I have heard people say that that was the loudest crowd response ever heard. I believe Elton John said that himself. It sounds unbelievable when I hear it now and I have seen all the big ones in concert but nothing like that.

Wolverine Yes, I was at the actual concert-was in my teens & it was actually my first ever concert-went in place of a friend's brother who was sick-incredible and I do remember the big roar when John Lennon came out-such a huge surprise as no one expected it!!

That is absolutely incredible. I have read that the still separated John that had drank and fought himself nearly to death during his "lost weekend" was now back and hoping to reconcile with Yoko. He was also completely nervous and unsure how he would be received. What a thrill it is to hear the roar and to see the photo unscripted of his meeting Yoko back stage and what would be his salvation by getting back with her. She was everything to him. So good for you, great luck!
