I’m loving your enthusiasm for this and framing it as conceptual art. That’s the intent. I’m looking forward to exploring some then using this as a cheat sheet… then ripping the Blu-rays to enjoy the music without the mind gamification. Last thing I bought with this degree of Easter egg was the Memento special edition DVD. I *am* sympathetic to people who won’t know or be able to do the navigation to find these gems. Movies: A Beautiful Mind is the one you’re thinking A Serious Man is the Coens movie (and my favorite of theirs!) A Simple Man… A Simple Plan? A Single Man? I know those two. Maybe this is the mashup we never knew we needed.

I don't mind "hidden" tracks when they're tucked away later on the disc-like Nirvana's "Endless, Nameless" on Nevermind, for example. But hidden tracks before track 1 are frequently inaccessible unless you have the right CD player-and most folks don't have the luxury of being able to swap out CD players. I usually don't worry about it, and hope maybe the hidden track will become available another way somehow.

I remember purchasing the John Lennon solo album Mind Games upon first release featuring the title track, which peaked at 18 US Billboard and 10 Cashbox and in Japan peaked at 46. Many Beatles fans bought the album and reviews of Mind Games was moderate at best. I seen for myself the music critics seeing John Lennon and his message weak and the other three, Paul, George, Ringo putting out much stronger material in their albums. Each former Beatle, especially Paul, had exception album and Single release material. It was Yoko's idea to put strong musicianship on her Sphinx Album and follow with John's Mind Games. Thanks to Yoko, the album is saved but Feeling the Space, I believe, at least back then, was a much stronger album and seemed focused on the subject matter, where John's lyrics are some of his weakest moments in his life. He was writing more stark and precise lyrics on every Beatles album, but Mind Games songs do not have that Lennonesque bite or energy. The question I have is "why" ? Why spend hundreds and thousands of dollars on this ? We've heard the tracks and I know Sean has really improved John's voice and music. But, really why? I won't buy the Mind Games because I bought the album for 5 bucks and I loved it. But these days, where people are foolishly spending on rehashed material is totally insane. People are going to food banks or losing jobs, high rent, high groceries. The Lennon Estate goes right against John Lennon's own words, about "greed" and "hunger". Then people who buy these, 'store" them. It is insane. You buy to play, not store, folks. Then all these gimmicks in the box set like the light on the cd is insane. In a few years, I guarantee you that you will have forgotten most of Mind Games trivia and I know that after 10 plays, you will be so bored with the album. I know you really want this 'masterpiece" of John's to be successful. But it's not that good of music. The song writing is weak at best. Take care.

Yet John had a mansion out side London. A painted Rolls, several apartments in the Dakota. A farm upstate New York. There are many great songs in the record but got do buried in the original mix 🎸🥁

Most remotes have backward and forward SCAN / SEARCH / REWIND buttons (depicted as arrows, i.e. >) plus backward and forward SKIP buttons (arrows with a solid vertical line on the appropriate side) ..... the latter pair of buttons is used when bopping to a prior or subsequent track on a CD .... and also used for a DVD or Blu-Ray disc when you want to move to a previous or subsequent Chapter. Use the backward SKIP button to get to the hidden track(s) prior to the "Mind Games" song in each Section of the BDs. The SKIP buttons will look some like this on your remote control: |>| for forward SKIP * as mentioned in this video, the Out-Takes Section on BD2 has two (2) hidden songs prior to "Mind Games" Also: if you press the STATUS or DISPLAY button on your remote while listening to any of the versions of "Mind Games" found in any of the BD Sections, you will notice that, while "Mind Games" is listed as Track 1, it is actually Chapter 2 within that Section ..... Chapter 1 in each section is the hidden track.

Hi Mazzy. I was thinking about all of this after reading many other comments. I was wondering why they didn't send you the Lp version? You obviously prefer Lp over cd. Then it hit me. The Lennon estate decided they wanted you to promote the format that was going to make them the most money. The cd format is the only way they could bloat the hell out of this one album. The Lp version is a modest 2 Lp set at about 45 euros. That bloated cd set is about 108 euros. There will be a more reasonable 2 cd version at the usual 18 euros. Information I've gathered makes me believe the two cd version will be made at Optima Germany, as other beatle releases have been. Since your set is from Europe, who manufactures the six cds? I was never into the solo Lennon stuff. However, I respect your thoughtful analysis of this release minus the other five cds and two Blu-ray.
