John is an amazing guitarist, engineer and producer. Enjoy what he did with Marc Cohn, Shawn Colvin, the Wreckers, Rosanne Cash on and on. His playing is so unhurried, making every note tell a story. Lucky to have seen John and Rosanne perform in Chicago

Substantial amount of homework chasing down all the musicians you two touched on. Thinking John may need to visit regularly. 🎸🎧😁

This is one of your best interviews. John is one of my guitarist/musician/producer heroes because of his influences and the way he melds them into his playing and approach to everything musical. Does that makes sense...? Thank you Zac and John for this inspirational slice of time.

Man Zac, this is so good. This is one of those rare instances when you don't want something to end. You have a knack of turning an interview into a very casual and natural conversation. I was the fly on the wall for almost an hour! Thanks!

I had the huge pleasure of seeing Sarah Jarosz with Aoife ODonovan and Sara Watkins as "I'm With her" last year which was the most *amazing* picking station.... I saw John Leventhal w/ Rosanne last night, hah hah, awesome show from the 6th row center.

Imagine being John Leventhal and not realising that he is viewed as a unique, fascinating guitarist! 😲

Don't know if anyone mentioned it already, but that low C-G tuning is a well-known slack key C tuning that became central to the Hawai'ian identity thanks to Gabby Pahinui who Ry worked with in the 70s.

Dang Zac another good one interestingly Jon and Roseanne had a second home in my home town in up state NY. I am a guitarist bassist mandolin player maybe a tad senior to Jon but share all these influences and appreciate all these insights. Loving these interviews from my new home of several yrs SouthWest Colorado where things are also starting to break out. Thanks!

Zac great interview once again.I sure appreciate the fact that you do your homework on each artist as you do. One question: So the tuning John is talking about is it Low C,G,D,G,B,D?
@TruetoneFX4 жыл бұрын
C,G,D,G,B,E Low to high. Standard tuning with the low E dropped to C, and the A dropped to G. Thanks Keith!
