Banning entry to the country based on religion is a violation of the First Amendment Establishment Clause.

I'm not a Trump supporter in anyway shape or form but if this ban is truly about banning Muslims explicitly and not about limiting immigration from terrorist hotspots - why isn't immigration from Indonesia, UAE, Kuwait, Jordan or Malaysia, Dagestan, Turkey, Azerbaijan etc banned?
@chaitrapollard88697 жыл бұрын
Carter Kinoy that's right!

So answer the question then, why isn't immigration from Indonesia, Turkey, Kuwait, UAE etc banned if it really is a ban explicitly on Muslims that is?

Agree, however it is quite contradictory that there is no ban on Pakistani or Saudi Arabian immigrants.

Banning immigration from certain countries is allowed. Traveling between countries is a privilege not a right. I personally don't agree with this but that's how foreign relations work. If it were a true Muslim ban he would have banned the entire Middle East with parts of Africa but he didn't even ban Saudi Arabia and Egypt for some reason.

Whether you agree with allowing refugees in or not we have a moral obligation to accept them. We have interfered in Middle Eastern politics and waged wars for over a century. We are directly responsible for the geo political mess the Middle East is in right now We created the current borders which have separated tribes and caused tensions. We arranged for the overthrow of a democratically elected Iranian leader because he wanted Iran's oil for Iran's people and not for British and American profits. We installed an unpopular Shah dictatorship which led to revolt. We are directly responsible for the Theocracy in Iran today. We encouraged and funded Iraq's war against Iran. We gave Saddam money and enabled his dictatorship. We encouraged a Shia uprising against Saddam, then stood by and did nothing while they were slaughtered. We funded the Taliban's rise to power using money funneled through Pakistan to fight the Soviets. We encouraged the behavior of Middle Eastern leaders like the Saudi's because we want their money and oil. We disbanded the Iraqi army and sent trained soldiers into the arms of ISIS. We play geo political games over Syria while their people are caught in the crossfire. There's probably more I haven't mentioned but isn't the above enough to force us to take responsibility for the consequences of our actions?

This prevents some people who live here ALREADY, work here, OWN HOUSES, and have family here, from returning to the country after a vacation, after attending a funeral, etc. Maybe they went by themselves and their husband, wife, and children are still here, in their house. Some of these people being blocked are interpreters who have worked with the military for years and that have helped KEEP US SAFE. Sickening.
